http://www.rah.gq.nu/bourbon/

i've been wanting to have all the old funk breaks in high
sound quality. found this site today, and i'm happy.

the files are rather big. but that's what you suffer for
GOOD quality.

cool stuff!

did anyone else have had trouble dl-ing some of the last few
wav's listed on that site? I'm getting 404 notices :-(

Blah, the amen pack seems to be deady-dead, and i'd love a
cd quality version of it as the one i'm currently using is
an 8 bit mono scutty thing ripped from an old mod file.

you know, i just hope the funky drummer (james brown's
longtime drummer, the man responsible for the famous funky
drummer break in the song of the same name) recovered from
his illness because he was in the hospital last year and had
no money to pay for his surgery. if he died or is ill and is
still poor (you know how awful those old soul and r&b
contracts were? ask george clinton..) and these cd's are
being sold en masse, what a damn shame

cheers for the link, a very nice find indeed,
it make take a while to get these through my 56k but it'll
be worth it,

re:titsworth
that's fucked up about the funky drummer, if he got a penny
for everytime that beat has been sampled, then he'd have a
dozen nurses at his disposal!

when i unzipped the files, i was left with a text file that
i've not been able to convert to a usable format. they're
supposed to be .wavs. did anyone else have this problem?
is anyone else here using a mac?

I'm downloading one on Mac now... I hope it works.

They've all unzipped okay for me, I've got about 10... a few
of them got 404s. The Worm by Jimmy McGriff fooled me for a
while... it was in Royksopp though innit, Remind Me.
