Juno surgery (pics)

My dear 106's sound has started to crack up every once in a
while. It happens when I move any one of the sliders on the
front panel, so I decided to open her up and do some
cleaning. I vacuumed the innards and tomorrow I'll get some
cleaning fluid, but I'm worried that the parts are worn
beyond the help of a clean up. I bought it really cheap
(~120USD), but the pitchbend doesn't work or the 3 sliders
on the pitchbend panel. Luckily Portamento ON/OFF and Amount
works.

some pics:

the frontpanel opened up, it has hinges! Also note the sides
have been removed.

The frontpanel PCB removed, warning! it's a pain in the ass
to remove. I'm worried it might not go back gently..

Hopefully I can get this mess back together. Note the sides
lying next to the slider hats. It would look nice with some
cherry colored wooden end cheeks. I can always dream..

Yeah it was a nice price. Bought it off a student who was
moving back into the woods or something. His little
apartment (one room) was full of analog goodies. A Prophet
600, Obie Xpander and an Emu SP1200.

Alrighty..it's back together and it sounds better than ever.
Amazing. I've been playing an improvised portmento concert.
Very furioso :) It's nice to be able to push the sound
volume again without the nasty crackling noises creeping
in.

(heh stereolab are singing "seen it I've heard it, the
creation" in the background)

/me happy x100

You can't possibly understand my delirious state right now!
I was worried I might have to buy a new one. Looking through
some ads, I found 4 Junos within my range, but the prices on
mint condition 106's start at ~350-400USD.

My pitchbend and 3 sliders for the pitchbend are broke.
Might be hard getting it sold, unless I charge something
like ~120USD :)

I'm hesitant about gear that needs to be shipped within
Sweden, not to mention within different countries or
overseas.
