yeah, I like a lot of his stuff... I wouldn't call myself a huge fan... he has too much bluesy stuff for my taste... but I have Crystal Planet, and it's quite good... surfing with the alien is nice... my favorite song of his is Flying on a Blue Dream... Mmmm mmmm, good!

I had all his albums up to Time Machine, then I got bored with widdlers and sold them all. Surfing and Flying are my favourite albums by him. He's been mentioned quite a bit on here considering

he's definitely an amazing guitar player... but I find sometimes his songs get pretty cheesy sounding... but overall, he's pretty cool!

I used to have this Guitar Legends concert from Seville which he played at. I thought he rocked but that guitar wankery is a bit silly really. Steve Vai also played on it.

I thought I'd seen everything when I watched Satriani widdling his bollocks off, then I saw Mike Angelo playing one of his tracks. Go on kazaa and search for him, there's a 5 minute vid of him playing 'Speed Kills'. It is FUCKing insane, it's like the Matrix or something, I swear.

Blech, I hate ''guitar pyrotechnics'', but the guy IS very talented and I remember listening to Surfing with the Alien with my guitar teacher and it was impressive, technically. But that's it.
Also, he looks cool bald.

Good skills in playing does not equal good skills in songwriting.

Hes got a few good tracks. Crystal Planet and Surfing w/the Alien are probably his best. I'd wish he'd kept going with his electronica shit like on Engines of Creation. He needs to break through that 80's guitar solo BS and do something really sweet.
