I have a question and it seems like a good thrread...
if i hold F8 when i starrt up will it take me to a scrreen that will allow me to turrn my sound carrd on? someone said it would but i don't want my computerr to blow up.

I think your talking about getting into the BIOS, it may not be f8 on your maching
f8 will give you advanced start up options whicj will allow you to go into safe mode and such
If you need the BIOS, when you start up it'll say press "????"to enter setup, don;t go in there if your not too confident though cause you can bugger loads up

I remember calling the tech support line for my sound card cause it wouldent play wav files, was on the phone for ages
turned out the fugging lead wasent plugged in, I was so embarraced !
The guy thought it was funny as hell when I told him I work for tech support

i work at tech support for my university; we support a groupware/discussion group product called 'mercury'.. i got a call the other day from some industrialist in albertra trying to sell us tons and tons of actualy mercury. he found us in the university phonebook under "mercury support".
