deffinately not true, considering afx has said himself that
he doesnt even like radiohead, that it just sounds
pretentious to him. imho when youre as good as radiohead, ur
allowed to be pretentious

i read that richard heard kid a and he didn't like it,he
thought it was cheesy...it's funny because he has done some
pretty cheesy stuff himself

No, he doesn't like Radiohead because they are mainstream
and he's an elitist.

i love this song! =)

i read it wasn't very popular among Radiohead fans... i
don't know why... it sounds like Autechre a little bit don't
you think? maybe that's because.

It would sound like shit. Especially when you consider that
Radiohead are far better than Aphex Twin.

maybe he just doesn't like their music? not everyone likes
Radiohead you know. I think they are ok, nothing more. They
fail to be as good as the artists that influence them.

Although I did lke Kid A

Another one Radiohead's failed attempts at copying a genre.
It's tolerable, but sounds too much like an attempt at
copying Shiny Metal Rods.

_awt_ > 'What Your Soul Sings'...

personally i used to think Radiohead was average, but i like
it more and more - it's about to become my favourite band...
(i haven't heard Pablo Honey nor The Bends except
Creep, Fake Plastic Trees & Street Spirit
[fade out]
yet though)

does "pulk" mean anything anyway?

not in regular English, at least. but it does mean "bogey"
in Dutch.

I do agree with Purlieu btw. it does sound a bit like a
half-assed attempt at doing electronic music.

pulk is a dutch word???

Points: 47414 Status: Moderator | Followup to rez: #01007781

yes. it's even a verb - 'pulken'.

can't think of a direct translation, but it's like when you
have a small scab and you keep fidgeting with it, trying to
pull off tiny bits of old skin - thats 'pulken'.

offline qrter from the future, and it works (Netherlands, The) on 2003-12-28 07:18 [#01007784]

although the verb is about the action - it isn't exclusively
for the pulking of scabs.. :P

eh!?

NO !

'pulken' means more or less 'to pry at something'.

Always hated that track. That album is really inconsistent.
2 of my favorite R-head tracks (Pyramid and Might Be Wrong),
and a lot of awful crap.
