'we must self destruct'. pretty "typical od track". which,
of course, is synonymous with "delicious". oh. and "tasty
goodies". well done. =]

"roam". yeah, i've heard that one before. dunno if it was
here or someplace else, though. i'd say i like this the best
of these three, though. it's the most..."original" (as to
say...not quite "typical od", but...with a hint of lime or
something).

"falls out of tree on bike". again, another "typical od
track". nothing really stand-outish aside from your usual
kick-my-ass melodies, beats, etc. =]

i'd say you've got this thing down, mate. i should really
fiddle around more, i just lack "inspiration". hee hee.

I don't understand how you do it.

the songs are basically structured in a way, where my ears
are begging for more. You leave enough open space for my
brain to finally catch up with the song, then some crazy
synth comes in, or whatever.

seriously, I need why aren't you signed? I want to start a
label just to sign you.

I downloaded it but I didn't feel like typing a whole load
of shit because I generally don't like writing reviews for
music (when I can't rip it to bits).

But uh, yeah they're good songs, you're easily as talented
as a lot of 'professional' IDMers. It's not really my style,
but I liked it a lot still.

ok first off I'm a fucking mess right now, so I hope this
all makes sense...

Skink - thanks man glad you like them :)

DJ Xammax - thanx

Blatant - cheers, but then the songs wouldn't be free
anymore ;-)

Paco - cheers

tibbar - made my day thankyou!

Refund - hmmmm I make music to make music, the other stuff
(making CDs and doing demos) is just sort of not what I'm
into, it's more like the biz behind the music, and I'm like
very lazy...and unorganized

thankyou people!

i agree whole-heartedly with blatant echo. you, fat kaimo,
and ochre ALL should be signed IMMEDIATLEY, if warp,
rephlex, skam, planet mu, lex, schematic, etc... had any
sense.

Awesome awesome awesome. Hella better than that Venetian
Snares dude. I'd give you a contract if I was a big fat
executive, you got my vote. Falls Out of Tree on Bike is my
favorite among those three.

offline od_step_cloak from Pleth (Australia) on 2003-10-06 08:18 [#00891326]

Dude better than snares is a BIG thing to say (regardless of
my personal opinion on him+his music)! Thanks a lot man!
You've just dredged me out of my bad mood, thanks for that!
:)

Zeus - what for? That collab thread? Haha I'm not so sure
about the idea now, it's starting to look liek a lot of work
and I'll end up getting stuck and forcing something in the
end and getting frustrated

falls out of tree on bike is very nice. reminds me of afx's
"on" only much lower energy. similar melody with delay. i
like the squeek noises.

offline evolume from seattle (United States) on 2003-10-06 12:34 [#00891577]
Points: 10965 Status: Regular

I didn't like Roam so much. it was good but i felt that
some of the synth pad sort of melody sounds didn't fit so
good with the rest of the sounds. *shrug* if that makes any
sense. like it sounded a bit out of tune, maybe that was
intentional but it didn't sit so nice in my ears.
not a bad track, just not as good as the fall out of tree on
bike track.

offline evolume from seattle (United States) on 2003-10-06 12:45 [#00891583]

Now,
the "We must self destruct" track. that was fucking awsome.
excellent use of melody. i like all the little background
noises. i like how the melody is made of what sounds like 3
or 4 different sounds. some of them sounded reversed here
and there. i like the little chill out sections.
i kinda didn't like the ending but only because i wanted
that sweet tragic melody to go on more and having it self
destruct at the end was kinda sad i thought. but that was
the point i bet.

most original sounding of all 3 tracks i rekkon.

damn,
"we must self destruct" is damn catchy too. i listened to
it ONCE and i have the melody stuck in my head. great great
track. gotta give it another listen, my brain keeps humming
it.

hahahahaha...

i think i now officially have everything he put up. in
scanning his back messages (cuz i'm anal about release order
like that), i noticed there are a few tracks that are flat
out no longer around. :(

dish makesh me shad.
unheard od_step?

bring that crap on.

evolume - thanks for your constructive crit, I know what you
mean, Roam is a kind of messy tune, and in parts it is
technically out of tune, but I felt that the out of tune
bits sort of worked enough to be left in. Nice spotting!

I think the bassline note progression from we must self
destruct is from an old song. I didn't steal it but my dad
laughed when he heard it and started singing some old song
wtf?

Pachi - haha yeah i totally grew up on megaman 2 and 3! (and
1)

Lokust - thanks man I'm glad you enjoyed them - I spam all
the stuff I do now on here, so just keep an eye out I guess,
thanks a lot! ^_^

Tibbar - shit! Yeah I have about a hundredish track that
were on the net that are no longer on the net. My original
mp3.com site had about 50 (which has been reduced to three)
and my ampcast site had about 50 again and that site has
been deleted coz I didn't want to pay them. They're all
older stuff so no big loss. Lots of my early drill/breakcore
stuff. Before I got a bit sick of breakcore :)
