im totally into his live stuff lately and i just cant get
it out of my head how good is he doing it...his timing (to
get people in the right mood and not to burn them too fast)
is just perfect, and the music he selects for his sets is
always wonderful. he's surely one of best dj's around and i
was wondering if anyone knew how much preparation is needed
to do a set like that, i mean those tracks he's playing are
almost like meant to be played together. and does anyone
know if he ever used same set on two or more gigs?

yeah i have a copy of pukkulpop.

vs luke vibert.

intense... i liked the first 30 minutes, i dont know why,
but i felt myself forcing myself to hear the last 25...

i hope i get to hear him before that :), its been like 4
months since i listened to him live...

the thing i like the best, is that he's playing just other
people's music (usually a bunch of tracks i dont even know),
and if he plays one of his tunes that's just a bonus...he
could easily be having more gigs tho :)

Any gigs you'd recommend? I've only heard the ATP 2003
one(s).

you planning on going to melbourne too?

i'd suggest more than twice if he's doing a seperate show.

i plan on contacting big star here in adelaide and a billion
places in melbourne in the next few months and finding out.

yeah going to melb aswell. been to melb the last 2 BDOs.

cool, have to let me know. i'd try some places if i knew
what sorta places he'd go to.

i also heard this rumour that he holidays in some place in
QLD every year.. know if this is true? I think it starts
with a B.

heh, he does? rule

i don't know what places to ring either, so i figure ring a
shitload. big star would know, here, though - last year
when tea party came to adelaide there was a secret show for
~25 people down the bottom of big star in the city - to
come, all you had to do was ask. nobody knew about it - i
didn't, heh.

hoping something simular with afx; ~25 people for a private
show would fucking rule.

yeah that'd be awesome. I didn't even think he'd do
sideshows, but if he is that'd be heaps better. I won't even
go to the BDO. The only band i wanna see is APC, so i'll
definetely go to their side shows too if they have any.

oh yeah, i'll call people around dec too. if there's no
announcements of side shows etc.

cool, let me know of anything you find out; vice versa.

and i'm doubting he would, but there's a possibility....

Anyone wanna answer me yet?

sorry for late reply hehe, get anything you can :)

but perhaps start with:
-pukkelpop 2002
-ATP 2002
-primaverasound 2002
-sonar 2001

if you can get the set from bologna 2002 check that one out,
perhaps even more hardcore than sonar 2001 one

his set from ATP 2003 should be put on record!!!

i remember reading some comments when atp was over about how
snares outshined afx??? i say he wasnt any way near to afx,
its uptempo violent stuff but there's nothing more to
it...while afx set was almost like a guide through history
of electronic music

i hope he'll start playing in europe some more...i dont feel
like going to uk too often :)

That's something that crossed my mind too after several
listens :)
