Pay Pal screwed me

Ok this story may be a little long but if you could bare
with me and maybe add some feedback that would rock.

Once upon a time I (OxygenFad) put a sound card up for sale
on ebay. It was a recording soundcard. It sold for $180 US
($250 Canadian). I don't have a paypal account. So I used my
friends.
Later on in the week my friend calls me and lets me know
that his Pay Pal account has received the money. That night
we meet

up and he gives me money. 2 days later (On my birthday
actually) my friend calls to inform me that paypal deducted
$180 US

from his credit card because the scumfuck I sold the
soundcard too used a fraudulent credit card. Now after
spending all the

money the day I received it (naturally) am short one midiman
2044 and owe my friend $250.00.

I don't get it. Is this not PayPals fault ??? I wasn't the
one that approved the credit card yet I get dinged by the
multi

million dollar fuckheads who are paypal. What really got me
peeved was the email they sent. TEMPLATE.

Anyway I'm pretty stressed out about all this cause I DON'T
HAVE MONEY.

*Get a job!!!yar har har*

The re I said it, anyone have any advice it would be much
appreciated. Thanks ! (sorry for the spaces ... notepad)

well i wouldn't blame it entirely on paypal.. the buyer is
actually the "guilty" one, but paypal SHOULD do some sort of
check on credit cards. i guess the best thing to do (in the
future) would be to wait for some confirmation or something
before shipping. have you tried contacting the buyer to see
if it was just a mix-up/incorrectly entered credit card
number number?

There's probably something in that 'user end liscence
agreement' or whatever you click the 'I agree to the terms'
checkbox that makes it so you can't do shit about the whole
problem. Too bad.

I think this website said it best:
"Having investigated the various alternatives, we have
concluded that it is neither worth the time, the money, nor
the effort to go through the trouble of setting up to accept
credit card payments online, as we refuse to let the short
bus riding fucktards at PayPal have access to any of our
precious bank account information."

the thing i fearr is, that it will be in small prrint and
you will have no option but to pay.
therre could be no way out of it. but i'd hold off paying

i've heard of all sorts of stories like this; know of people
that have been screwed over huge amounts.

i've used them twice for small $5 transactions.

each time paypal goes HURR YOUR CREDIT CARD IS INVALID, then
i get a call from my bank 5 seconds (heh, it's freaky, i'm
being watched!) later saying paypal didn't like my card
number, so it nicely cancelled my card; and would i like to
be sent a new card?

do not advise using. paypal are retards.

I just started a Paypal account so I have no previous
experience with them. I do know you choose whether or not
your account can accept credit cards or not. If it does
accept credit cards you have to pay a "processing fee". I
choose not to deal with the problems credit cards can cause,
or the fees, so I use the free alternative. No problems yet.

Mama didn't raise no fool but I'm giving PayPal my credit
card details on Friday. I read some on it. If you write in
PayPal in a search engine, PayPal itself doesn't come up for
several pages. It comes up with all these PayPalSucks.com
sites. Anyway, I applied for a second visa card which will
debit money out of a second account I started then. And
then, once I have bought my items off eBay with the Paypal,
I will cancel the account and very little wrong could
happen. The most I could lose is $AU100, because that's all
I put in the second account. I bought from ebay in America,
if you'd like to know, the soundtrack to Kids for 11
cents, the soundtrack to Fear and Loathing in Las
Vegas
for about one dollar, a Dinosaur Jnr. album for
about two dollars and that's it. I'll buy some DVDs next, I
guess, I don't know. I wanted to get the soundtrack for
Gummo but all these people kept bidding on it and the dick
who bought it paid about US eight dollars over retail price.
I found out where I can it new now, this... this is a shitty
post but i will post it anyway.

Hello Mr. Mcleod,
It has been 14 days since you filed your case. Generally a
respondent who doesn't respond within 14 days is not likely

send you further notice about this case.
If you have resolved the problem, please close the case.

So a POWER SELLER gets in contact with me that week
and warns me that the guy I dealt with was a fraud (a little
too late lol) and reccomends I call the ebay 1-800 number
(which is impossable to find on EBAYS site...) , so I did.

After waiting about 30 minutes on the phone someone who
doesn't speak english answers and about after 30 minutes she
tells me how to E-MAIL (!!!) ebay and complain.

SOOOOOOOO I email ebay only to get this a few days later

Thank you for writing eBay's SafeHarbor Department to
notify us that you
have been sent an item to a buyer but have not received
payment for it.
We understand your concern about this situation and will
review your
report as soon as possible. This is usually within 24
hours.

In the meantime, there are two steps that you may take to
try to resolve
this situation with your trading partner. First, we
recommend you
contact your buyer directly. You can request your buyer's
contact
information at the following web address:

http://cgi3.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?MemberSearchShow#
ContactInfo

Second, we recommend that you consider using SquareTrade,
which is an
online dispute resolution service. Because we understand
that these
types of situations can be difficult, we have partnered with
SquareTrade
to help our members resolve them. To learn more about
SquareTrade
please go to the following web address:

http://pages.ebay.com/services/buyandsell/disputeres.html

If you are unable to resolve things with your buyer, you may
want to
consider a few more options. First, you can use the
Non-paying Bidder
Program to report the bidder and determine if you qualify
for a Final
Value Fee (FVF) credit. You can read more about this
process at the
following web address:

http://pages.ebay.com/help/community/npb.html

When you file for a FVF credit, the buyer's account is
marked and dealt
with accordingly. Filing for the FVF credit allows eBay to
track and
suspend buyers that do not follow through with their
bidding
obligations. You can access the FVF page by clicking on
eBay's "site
map" located at the top of any eBay page, and then by
clicking on the
"request a final value fee credit" link located in the
middle column,
under "Services." For your convenience, I've included the
URL to file
for that credit:

http://pages.ebay.com/services/buyandsell/finalfee.html

In certain cases, you might want to contact the local law
enforcement in
your area as well as where the

From there I send them back an e-mail.
and get this shit ...

Hello,

Thank you for writing to us about this situation. I
appreciate your
email.

So that I can fully investigate this situation, can you
please send me
the email that you received from your payment service
stating that this
user paid you with fraudulent funds, with the full email
headers?

The full header is extremely important, as we cannot take
any kind of
action without it. A header will look like a string of
"nonsense"
characters, similar to the example I have pasted for you
below. You can
find this by using the "properties" function of your email
program.
