His best album in my opinion is tauromachine, and that's not
very good even. He makes excellent thick noise pulses, but
it's not nearly as intricate or intelligently molded as
autechre's lp5. well, it might be as intricate but it
probably was way easier to make than autechre's stuff. Each
song is a different giant futuristic destruction tool for
quickly demolishing massive buildings and stuff. It's ok
when you're extremely emotionally disturbed, but probably
not worth repeated listens. The global volume of his albums
are 2wice as loud as average. I hate when he gets those high
pitch pointless noises. A crappier noise artist is masonna,
I bought some album where he screams the whole time, every
song is the same practically except the first which has a
brief melody at the end.

Most of his stuff is classic Japanese noise!! Layers of
white nice with pulsing bass....

not the easiest stuff to listen to....

Have fun

Thats mean't to be "white noise" not 'nice'....typing this
early in the morning was never a good idea....

His album Veneareology - you have to play the whole album
using the rewind button on your cd player - they are all
hidden tracks!

Have fun

haha i didn't know that !!

Anyway Merzbow is a great artist ; i'm listening again to
tauromachine right now (my favorite) and it's still amazing.
Maybe not in the way he produced this sound, but the result.

I'm still uncertain whether there is a musical undercurrent
to the noisier Merzbow tracks... I want to believe there is,
but I can't be sure.
