I tried searching for a similar thread but I'm fucked if I could find them... oh well.
Anyway, I finally managed to get a copy of Diary by Chuck so I'm reading that, nearly finished. Then I think I'll get Donna Tartt's The Secret History which I heard good things about - she's a friend of Bret Easton Ellis and apparently it's quite a famous book. Yet it's the first I've heard of it, that fucking booksite equilvelent of the IMDB is more necessary every week.. anyway I digress. After that it's Niall Griffiths - Kelly & Victor, then Shadowland by Peter Straub.
You?

Diary is a damn good read. I enjoyed it a lot.
I'm reading A Short History of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson. It's basically starts with the Big Bang and goes through to the current day. There's loads of info in it. I recommend it.

currently reading the complete works of poe. and i dont mean that band that sung "angry johnny" hehehe. i think the story that has really clung to my sack is "the details in the case of m. vandelar" (sp?). if you haven't read it, i highly recommend checking it out, it's about someone on their death-bed being hypnotised and dying in the trance, but still being in suspended animation because of the hypnotic state they are in. VERY freaky ending.

I can't get into autobiographies really, I dunno why. I can't think of a single one I've read that I enjoyed, probably because most of the ones I read were written by self-aggrandizing wankers. I haven't read Mr Nice but I hear it's good, not surprised he turned out like he did coming from Bridgend though... I think someone on here said "When cannabis gets legalised, that's bloke's career is fucked innit?!"

Yep and yep. I read Sheepshagger, then Stump, then Grits. Sheepshagger was awesome, the ending blew me away - Stump was less good, bit meandering and uneventful, but Grits was sublime, some brilliant passages. The part where the guy who lives on the mountain in a self-made house recalls his arm being blown off was incredible.
