hi - sometimes when I download an .avi file, I can hear the
soundtrack but can see no picture.

Can someone help me out here?

Yeah, you're probably running it in Media Player right Paul?
If you don't have div x get that and use it, if it still
doesn't work you need the xvid codec (or one of the million
other codecs around..)

New versions of media player scan the images to see if they
are pornographic and automatically block them. Try viewing
some unpornographic material, you little perv.

Firstly, uninstall div x and xvid if you have them
installed. Then d/l div x again, install it. D/l xvid, and
install it so that it's in the div x folder. You almost
always have to do this otherwise xvid codec-using files
won't run.

You will need a codec pack called FFdshow I should imagine.

That should solve all your pornographic needs. :D

Try downloading the DiVX player and see if it will play in
that. There's also a codec analyzer available on
divx-digest.com you can look for to see what codec you're
missing.
