Smart FTP does the over the web install, where you download
the little exe file and the rest installs over the net.
That might be why it was going to take so long.

ok...that's odd, cuz I have a normal exe-file which doesn't
seem to connect anything.

i use WS_FTP. it's cute.

yeah, but since I started REALLY using FTP for shit (before
it was only the occasional web-site upload), WS_FTP has been
useless to me. Used it a lot before though.
WS_FTP has some bugs with continues upload, and you can't
have multiple FTP's running. There's no queue-system ether.

true. all very true. and smartFTP has these features lacking
in WS_FTP? maybe i should look into it, then. hmm.

UPDATE

Another roundup of the last 24 hours in the world of
XLTVv.9:

-------------------------------

Following artist's tracks will be featured. The rest is
under evaluation (artists: please read the notice next to
your name
):

experiments with beeps and whirrs (need 192kbps version)
orange dust (need 192kbps, but you know that)
fat kaimo
skink
ambsace
gate (need 192kbps version and is it me or is there a lot of
noise in the left speaker on that track?)
demegy (need updated version)
sean junk
kcinsu
modex (need 192kbps version)
nannou
hummer

-------------------------------

IMPORTANT:
I'm going for a 70 minutes compilation and it's already up
about 48, so there is only room for max 5 or 6 tracks.

-------------------------------

The whole thing sounds better and better with every track
that I put in there.
I've begon to listen to it for my own listening pleasure.

-------------------------------

For all other contributors:

1) try to keep the track under 6 minutes
2) that I receive your track, doesn't automatically mean
that your on the compilation. Not that your track isn't
good, but it might not fit the overall mood/genre of the
whole compilation
.
3) the mood/genre I'm going for on this compilation is
something in between 'IDM' and 'chill' (so basically
something between Autechre and Boards of Canada). Use this
as a guide and don't take it too literally; I already
decided to use tracks that is a bit away from this category,
but it's good at a guideline ;)
4) my email is steven@swedishhunting.se

i didnt notice any noise, but it could be a permanent thing
junktion, it was a one off recording.. something to do with
the wiring at the time :]

are you still sticking with the october deadline? i'm
making a track specifically for this comp and need time to
complete it.

offline Junktion from Northern Jutland (Denmark) on 2003-09-26 17:41 [#00879997]
Points: 9713 Status: Lurker | Followup to plaidzebra: #00879954

I have to stick with the October deadline, cuz I
probly won't have Internet from the 8th and until the 1st.
So that leaves me time to finish the compilation.
If tracks (even the one's already submitted, but needing a
192kbps version) are not submitted by the deadline it forces
me to remove the track from the compilation.
There's also the question of limited minutes of compilation,
and of course most important: If your track doesn't fit the
compilation, it will not be added, as harsh at it may
sound.

Above rules are for all contributors

Whee, I have actually almost finished something too... I
shall perform EQage in the morning when i'm not dead and
whisk it down the telephone lines to you sire. It's full of
detuned goodness.

I do, but I might play a little with the equalizer. Nothing
that will ruin the track of course, but, just to even out
the sound a bit.

If the quality even comes close to the previous volumes of
XLTRONIC VIBES, this comp. is going to be great! I don't
know how I didn't stumble upon xltronic earlier.

haha then I've got no fucking chance of being finished in
time. Why say it was going to be the best entries and then
change the rules? I didn't even see that it had changed
because I haven't been around too much. Oh well, that's me

Nah, I'm not pissed off at you, you are doing this out of

time finishing it if I had realised the way things were
going.
