yep.- i got to see him and eight others perform "Drummings" tonight. It was fuckin brilliant! The "set" consisted of four parts; bongodrums, marimba and xylophone and all together at the end. there were also two singers doing vocals (weird) and a woman playing the flute.
it was very hypnotizing. i can't remember the last time i felt so relaxed and consentrated at the same time. needless to say, the concert got standing ovation and everybody was happy.

I did see "City Life" live (although not with Reich performing or even being there).
still - it was great.

to be honest i'm actually not a hardcore fan of reich.. music for 18 musicians was the first whole piece i'd heard by him (i've heard more since then and even performed music for clapping). i'd like to see his music performed live tho.

Is it true that Reich's stuff is often not done perfectly correctly live? IE ending up out of phase or having to make a large leap to end in time?

not a tour. it's a chamber music festival here in Trondheim, and Reich was invited.
