i hope anyone can help,
i was downloading this video from slsk, but before it had finished downloading it, i got it elsewhere. so since i didn't need it twice i deleted the file in the transfer(d/l)-window in slsk, but i still have this INCOMPLETE~blahblah.avi file in my My Downloads folder..
now, i want to delete it but it doesn't let me, i closed down all programs and even rebooted the computer a couple of times, but still it sais that the file is used by some program. it sais "close all programs that might be using this file and try again", or something like that (i got the dutch winxp version)
what can i do? it takes up 0,5 Gb of my diskspace, which annoys me.
normally i would go to DOSprompt and delete it there, but as far as my knowledge reaches i'm kinda locked inside Winxp and can't really close it and go to DOS mode
i'd really appreciate some help.

have you tried Task Manager? Press CTRL ALT and DELETE and see if it is running in there. If so, close it.

Failing that open Sulseek and try downloading the same file again, hopefully it will resume and unlock it.

Delete in a command prompt window. I had the same problem. That's how I got rid of it.

Make sure slsk is not running in the background. Terminate all slsk related processes in the processes list (Ctrl+Alt+Del)

You could try booting into safe mode and deleteing then. Then boot normally.
If you have no luck I have this thing called NTFSDOS which lets me boot into DOS from a floppy with the ability to read NTFS. That will work.

yay!! thanks a lot guys,
i still don't know how but the combination of things probably worked, i did run safe mode but still wasn't able to delete it (not even in command prompt), now i'm back in normal mode, and i tried for the last time in command prompt and suddenly it worked ! :D
i've been trying this since yesterday, and all the time it was moaning about 'no acces, still in use' and stuff , but now it's done
damn computers ey :P anyways, thanx for the support :)

I think this is an dll-error in windows actually. I remember downloading a dll-fix for this problem
dll = dynamic link library, innit?
