Quadrapelegicrobotikev from mp3.com/quadrapelegicrobotik on 2001-11-13 00:39 [#00051268]

from what i've heard, its mostly constant static noise...i
can't really get into it, it doesn't suit my musical
tastes...but, it does for some folks

rF on 2001-11-13 01:04 [#00051277]

there are beats, just not much melody..

od from perth on 2001-11-13 02:14 [#00051289]

yair, but youre noise boy, rF!

Quadrapelegicrobotikev from mp3.com/quadrapelegicrobotik on 2001-11-13 02:30 [#00051290]

personally, i dig TriRepetae (if i spelled it right)

rF on 2001-11-13 02:31 [#00051292]

od: haha you wait till you hear some of the poxytok stuff...
heheheh

vi scose poise on 2001-11-13 03:24 [#00051306]

i personally think Confield is a masterpiece, and i actually
love the melodies in it :-/
vi scose poise is great, cfern blows me away, pen expers is
amazing, sim gishel doesnt have a melody, parhelic triangle
is just plain wierd, bine is just plain scary, eidetic
casein is beautiful, uviol is great and lentic catachresis
is the best song ever made.

i think you should all go buy it.

Aron? from Canada on 2001-11-13 03:31 [#00051309]

rF: wait till you hear some of the stuff i'm working on for
poxytok!!!
:)

crayon_kid from the sewers under your house on 2001-11-13 03:34 [#00051310]

static???
riiiiiiiiiight....no

that album probably has the widest range of different sounds
in one album.
you want just static? buy hanin eliases solo album, in
flames....yyyyyyuk

Xanatos from NYC on 2001-11-13 04:41 [#00051330]

I have trouble getting into Ae, I need more melodies...I
like Rae alot though...what album is that off?

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2001-11-13 04:43 [#00051332]

Incunabula is awesome... that's the only Autechre album I
have however...

Aron? from Canada on 2001-11-13 05:05 [#00051355]

Rae is off of LP5

Ophecks from Nova Scotia on 2001-11-13 05:06 [#00051356]

I don't have anything by them, but lots of MP3s. Rae is so
awesome, so is Cfern and Dropp.

cun8er from 8ercun\\\' on 2001-11-13 07:04 [#00051375]

LP5/EP7 to me is the tops : ofcourse Envane EP and Chichli
Suite deserve a mention too - But Confield by comparison is
too difficult and cerebral for its own good. i find.

I mean its good n all, and like refreshing now and then, but
drives one a bit mental after a while. You need like a sober
and attentive head to not get a headache from it ..

Gl;itch from New Zealand on 2001-11-13 10:41 [#00051406]

I like the album, its brilliant, Ep7 is still my favourite
Autechre "Album" though, I once listened to Confield on some
drugs that I didnt even know I had taken, and all the sounds
had amazing shapes, best music/drug experience ever, made me
understand the album alot more, its about sounds interacting
and overwhelming you, some of autechres older albums sound
too 2d for my liking, like the beat and the music dont sit
right, but Confield is a perfect merging of both.

cun8er from 8ercun, on 2001-11-13 10:57 [#00051410]

sober = concentrated? mmhhh maybe not.

drop a tab and see i guess

od from perth on 2001-11-13 13:47 [#00051492]

rF and aronZ - wait till you hear some of the stuff
I...err.....someone else did for the album!

borix on 2001-11-13 13:50 [#00051493]

Yesterday I got it. It was my first experience with Autechre
and I loved it. Me want (and will get) MORE! :p

rF from purf on 2001-11-13 13:52 [#00051494]

od: AAAHHAAAAAHAAA!!!!

but i thought you were already part of poxytok anyway?!?

phunqie from munich on 2001-11-13 16:29 [#00051556]

the last track off confield is great. especially the last
few seconds. i love it, it's the most suitable album-end in
the whole phuqin history of musiq.

MwM on 2001-11-13 16:38 [#00051560]

I like it but I think lp5/ep7/chichlisuite were constructed
better. Some tracks do things that disagree with me (which
is atypical of autechre). For example the last song starts
as one of the most interesting songs I've ever heard. But
then it evolves into something annoyingly repetitive (and
long). It seems like it wasn't finished (even though it's
still way more complicated than an average song by anyone
else)
Track 6 really blew me away. And track 8 has a cool beat in
it that changes very gradually from *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*- into
*-**-**-**-**-**-**-**- (The percussion units get packed
closer together relatively in time, then evolve back.)

MwM on 2001-11-13 16:39 [#00051562]

see phunqui for a completely opposite opinion...

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2001-11-13 20:15 [#00051596]

I hate the state of Newfoundland music stores... Incunabula
was the only album I have ever seen here in any store by
Autechre... I want them all!!! :)

I'd like to work my way up to the more difficult stuff, so
I'd love to pick up Amber and Tri Repetae... eventually...

Loogie from Oxford, UK on 2001-11-13 23:05 [#00051666]

I bought Con field :) yesterday. It's really NOT my
thing.... so it's up for sale for £5 only!
Mint condition, only played once. Just send a stamped
addressed envelope and a fiver.
Email me.

Loogie on 2001-11-14 21:14 [#00052083]

I'm serious btw. £5. brand new CD, played once.
I thought everyone loved confield...

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2001-11-14 21:54 [#00052090]

well I guess the people that love it, have their copies
already...

Tak-psychology on 2001-11-14 22:17 [#00052098]

I don't think anyone really liked confield after just giving
it one listen. Try it a few more times, and you might grow
into it.

Its bloody brilliant.

phunqie from munich on 2001-11-16 14:08 [#00052761]

yeah, bloody brilliant.
and, yeah, after a few more times through it. every next
time gets better.
the first part of the last track is interesting indeed, but
i love the second part though. i'm tryin to explain the
feelin with words but i can not. i can't find any. it begins
with a construction of somethin, then it starts to rush in a
whole world of sounds and at the end all this is destroyd in
the most lovely way.
phuq the wurdz, listen to it again.

phunqie from munich on 2001-11-16 14:15 [#00052764]

btw, it reminds me of cipater (the part between the two
halves).
lovely

phunqie from munich on 2001-11-16 14:16 [#00052765]

you can "see" the structures colapsin.
end.

teapot / vi scose poise on 2001-11-16 18:12 [#00052843]

i love Confield, but i always thought the last track was
stupid until i got really stoned and listened too it... now
i know whats going on everytime i listen too it, and its
probably my favorite track.
