i just had some of this fine eastern alcoholic drink about all weekend it seems like. you're supposed to serve it at 100 degrees fahrenheit - so we boiled water and put the bottle in the sink until the fliud was nice and toasty. the temperature suits the drink and strangely, it's more of a warm, focused drunkeness - i can see why samurai drank it - it makes me feel like i could kill a million men myself.
anyone else enjoying this lately?

ah ophecks - so you have felt the wonderful powers of sake as well?
my friend actually has a katana - it's cheap though and loose at the hilt - but it looks cool.

I don't know if the liqour stores where you're at carry it, but a few around my area in texas do - it's not cheap, but then better liqours usually aren't cheap anyways.
try some liqour stores, probably some bigger ones.

"you're supposed to serve it at 100 degrees fahrenheit"
> i don't know how much it is in °Cs... but not all sakes must be served warm. some are best served cool.
(i personally have tasted both, and i prefer cold sakes)
the quality of sake can vary a lot too...

indeed.
personally though, the taste of sake doesn't bother me that much - i didn't know there were cold brands of sake though.
it probably doesn't bother me since its more derived from rice.

i read also in japan, "sake" just means "alcohol"... to get sake in japan you must ask for "nihon shu" (which means "japanese wine" or something like that, though sake doesn't taste like wine)

JivverDicker > yeah, of course... but well... *shrugs*
Oddioblender > i don't know if it's written on the label... really, i don't know much about it either - barely what i posted. i just tasted sake three or four times, once in a very good japanese restaurant and once in my trip to japan; i only drink alcohol rarely - i'm not even talking about going in night parties or drinking with friends..... that must happen like once in 10 years for me...
eXXailon > maybe it was not best... quality/taste can vary a lot, i tasted some cheap one once and i didn't like it at all but afterwards i tasted other ones and they were delicious. (or yes, maybe you don't like it at all, i don't know : ))

Oddioblender > do you know how bathrooms are in japan? : )
usually, you take a shower to wash yourself, rince yourself well, and then take a hot bath to relax yourself. they even have bathtub systems for the water to stay hot, no matter how long you stay in it!!
also toilets in japan... can vary a lot. there are ultra-hi-tech toilets with lots of buttons on a control panel, heating seat, water spritzing and stuff, but also some kind of very basic urinals - like normal stand-up urinals for men but horizontal, not vertical, and that can also be used for shitting... (i'm glad i never had to use those)
