(At long last)

...is here.

Don't bother with Bag of Wank (that's a complete pisstake
and deliberately awful), just the other two tracks.

Thanks in advance.

was mellow and sweet.

Thanks for the comments, all 3 of ya.

*Takes Jungle Ham aside*

Jungle Ham:What do they think?
Me: Well the feedback was good, but decidedly
little.
Jungle Ham: Why's that?
Me: Well when you kind of put all of your energy into
something you expect something good to come out of it. Or
bad... at least something.
Jungle Ham: But you always said 'As long as my music
reaches one person, then it's all worthwhile'. And it has!
Morton likes what you do for starters..
Me: I guess I should be a little more grateful..but
goddamn it what about when I get this thing released? When
no-one buys the album it'll destroy me.
Jungle Ham: That's down to you, you have to do a
little promotion to get your stuff recognized. You know,
having your own official website, send your stuff to radio
stations and record companies.. What I'm saying is you can't
just sit back and wait for people to just come along, drawn
to your music by sheer effort alone.
Me: You're right! Thanks Jungle Ham, you're the
greatest!

well, i'm certainly glad you've got this going. this is some
awesome stuff, guy-o. very nice. svalx: super-chill, mellow
track. "haunting" (i hate that word), yet really pretty
melody for that first half. never gets old or repetative
(which is sometimes a challenge with longer tracks). diggin'
your beats, too. "autechre-ish" (bear with me). i'll have to
listen to the others now. cheers. =]

offline thecurbcreeper from United States on 2003-09-21 15:30 [#00872289]
Points: 6045 Status: Lurker

Very nice. I liked Svalx. I can see the autechre influence,
but I would take it mostly as an influence. Not an attempt
at sounding like then, which a lot of people have problems
with (not ae, i mean people trying to sound like any group
they like) I liked Thought capsule as well. Nice little
ambient peice. That'd be cool to come out to playing live.
Nice stuff! I'd love to hear more in the future. Another
thing I think was a good move (which I didn't do) was
waiting a while before showing people your music. :)

Thanks everyone :)

I thought people would make that connection from SValx to
Autechre. Truth is I find them very influential, yet I was
making those beats because of a love for clicks'n'blips, and
also because I was making the track for a special girl. She
knows who she is :)

giginger: Which track?

I don't have the whole of SValx yet but what I've heard is
quality.

Thought capsule was great as well. Very serene. Keep going
mate. I want to hear more.

I love DJ Xammax's work, he is very very talented in my
view. Always doubts his music making abbilites but he makes
things that i could never even comprehend making. It's
always a pleasure to listen to him, to see how he progresses
and changes.

Essential listening: Thought Capsual, Calc (beautiful track,
like Confield mixed with drill n' bass), his industrial
galmen song.

Shine on you crazy diamond

hey, subway is some different ambient than thought capsule,
it's more 'ambienty' and scary even maybe..
nice track, still i prefer thought capsule (maybe i
shouldn't compare)

and this teptic iosca is really something else, at a first
listen i kinda felt it missed something, but listening to it
again it's ok this way, nice one dude.. different though,
like aphex first did with nannou or something

and i've heard phasm already as you know, it's best out of
those three imo :) i'd love to hear more of this kind of
stuff

keep'em coming

listening.. first impressions..

phasm - well made, lots of cool sounds going in all
directions. but i have to say i'm not feelin' it just
because for me it doesn't seem original enough. seems like
you're trying to do something, i don't know what exactly,
instead of just letting ideas come natural. but that's just
my opinion.

svalx - liking this one better.. pretty like i'm sure
the real 'svalx' is (amn't i charming!), very cool cuts. i
like the barely audible stuff in the background, kind of a
fading drone noise. good drumming, too. perhaps a little too
long.

subway - nice ambience, i like the helicopter effect
too. more of an original sound even though (m)any of us
could have made this track.

teptic - definitely hear a processed version of
gamelan here and it's cool. this goes with the name of my
radio show, "tiny silver hammers." nice. i've seen gamelan
players live and it's an amazing sight and sound. all that
coordination is really impressive.
