Anyone have any good ideas for songs to put on a mix cd specially taylored for sleeping?
I'm thinking stuff like Oval, or Brian Eno.
something that won't wake me up. but will compliment the freeway noise outside my window.
A true mix CD, not just SAWII or something.
anyone already have any compilations made? whats on them?
i want answers! ANSWER ME!!

then i'll make the CD mixes you suggest, and try sleeping to them. If your mix wakes me or my wife up all grumpy, YOU LOSE!!

I vary my sleeping playlist, but I always end up putting Music For Airports and Bronchusevenmx on there. Mad game.

Also check out disc2 on Tosca's new album "Dehli 9" especially if you like Music for Airports. Its about 12 tracks of piano bliss.

a track by Phoenecia called "melfad", from the "brownout" album.

Try:
The Olivia Tremor Control: Instrumental Themes and Dream Sequences - track 7 I think - the ~12 minute one
Pulusha: Isolation
um... there's bound to be something involving Pete Namlook that's dreamable.
can't... think... clearly...

Don't listen to to 76:14 by Global Communication. At least don't if you're like me. That whispering bit always wakes me up.

i heard tired sounds of... was their last record for awhile, which saddens me, but at least they went out with a bang.

Definitely. In the past few months, I've realized that Brownout is one great album to lie in bed to. Not limited to that, but just another great aspect about it.
Anyways, here's a few:
The Notwist - Propeller #9
Tortoise - Four-Day Interval
PJ Harvey - Catherine, Electric Light
Eno - Ambient #4 (all of it)
Phoenecia - JPace, Hiccup, Melfad...
