Releasing four albums

I'm planning on releasing four albums soon - i recently got
a burst of confidence when i learned that a local online
music mag dug my stuff and that they were putting up
reviews, and asked ME for an interview. I figured i would
takes od_step's advice, and just keep making music until
it's impossible for people to ignore me - i mean, where
would Wesley Willis be if he gave up? Anyways....

The first is my fourth album, Sleeping With Razorblades, 20
tracks, leaning towards uptempo glitch, breakbeats and
analog melody. Many of you have heard quite a bit of it.

The second is a re-issue of my first album, Welcome to
Gusland, which was originally 12 tracks, but is now 15 -
four tracks were added, one subtracted. More triphop jungle
analog melody with a tad bit of garage and hardcore.

The third is under a psuedonym - Zio Magus, a 30 track album
called Music for Horrors. It's a collection of dark ambient,
noise and experimental works i originally wrote for a friend
to use in his films, but they were never utilized -
strangely, they became a unique album.

The last is an 8-track EP under the name of Cowboy
Sugarcakes called "Can't Get Enough of that Sugary Sound!"
It is jazzpolkabluesnoise brand, fortified with bass, brass,
swing and other essential oddio nutrients.

Anyways, that's what I'm up to. If you like it, fine, if you
don't, that's fine too. =D

More info here: Oddioblender site.

So, how are all of you today?

i'm releasing it on Crazy Fungus Records - a DIY label based here
in Texas.

recycle - i have to do some paperwork for the albums, so it
may be a week or so before their release.

no offense but why not just pick the best tracks between the
4 of them and release just one really solid 50 minute album.
a lot of electronic albums have that kind of variety packed
in and are masterpieces.. you don't really need to release
them all seperately and i bet by releasing only the best
tracks your reputation will be the better for it and it'll
inspire you to keep at that same level of skill and
creativity

That's a great idea. I wish I had that much material to
choose from :(

i side with titsworth on this

i only have certain songs for certain albums. And i wouldn't
want to release all of them in one go.

I donno. I haven't heard any of it, but an album and a
collection of songs are two totally different things. If a
bunch of songs work together, but don't work with others,
then they deserve to stay together. Although having to
collect more than one or two disks can be a pain, it usually
is more fitting to the music.

i've heard phvkkage - good stuff. corticalstim, dj xammax
and ambsace - thanks for kind words!

titsworth, murray and taxidermist - i thought about this as
well - but the fact is, i had about 300 tracks total to
choose from, and some i just couldn't see together on the
same album. (in short i agree with taxidermist) and by the
way, one of the albums IS just a re-issue - not new stuff,
just my old stuff made a bit cheaper and more available.

as for ziomagus, i had about 80 tracks to choose from -
those 30 ARE the best.

release a fifth, best of, album :D
and a b-sides, unreleased, and stuff, album, without dying
first

yeah, but i've only been releasing music for a year now - if
i ever have a *chuckle* "greatest hits" album, i'll probably
wait at least 8 years to put it out.

i can call it "music i really liked but few others did."

i am gonna buy an album of you in the near future
i hate best of anyway, think its only done by the company's,
most artists dont want it anyway, i think, aerosmith must
have put out at least as much best ofs as regular albums,
thats so sad for them

i'm with you titsworth on this one, quality over quantity -
see venetian snares - he's got one or two incredible albums
in all the stuff he's released but his releases are so
numerous it kinda puts you off him ..

just pick the best tracks and release them - or ask your
mates to pick their favorites

thanks - all my full-length albums are 6 bucks ($US), and
i'm probably going to sell the ep for 3 ($US).

anyways HERE'S A LINK to what i have out now.

i appreciate you opinion, but i just don't see the tracks
going well together on the same release. some of them were
written specifically for a sideproject. i'm sticking with my
plan regardless.

yeah but you might not be the best judge if you don't mind
me saying - you made the stuff and have a special attachment
to it etc -
you shoud let someone you trust decide or a few people to
try and ge tthe best out of you .

i understand how some tracks should belong on one album,
just do one concept album with commercial songs or something
and get everyone to buy that one first, than the rest.

what are the two great venetian snares than?
