You know things are fucked up when basic human rights of
prisoners start being dished out as privilages
So who is responsible for this
Are we talking about some third world dictator here? NO!
Hijacking Terrorists? NO!
Taliban? NO!
Saddam? NO!

It's the good olde land of the free, the moral vanguards and
enforcers of democratic values on the rest of the world. You
Ass of Aay

not necessarily saying it's my belief, but something to
throw into a potentially interesting conversation: do some
prisoners really deserve basic human rights anyways?

tis a sad thing....thanks for pointing that article out.
it's funny how it's not been on the news......skirted the so
called POW's under the rug so to speak.

*thinks of myself as a citizen of the world more than any
one country*

These "viscious, worst of the worst nasty terrorists" have
included many old decrepit old villagers in their 70's
rounded up to boost numbers and not to mention 13 years old
kids. Not quite the Hannibal Lecter now were they? And all
that fucker lacks is a view.

certainly not those kinds of peoples. i guess this
was a bad place to play that card, since these people really
don't deserve to be treated like that. *shrugs*

did you notice this line

' where the 660 suspected al Qaeda and Taliban prisoners are
held. '

these men have had NO TRAIL, and are unjustly held.....it's
really not right....it's like them locking me or you up for
'suspected' something or other and not scheduling a
trial....=/

well. really, that's just war, though. it's happened before
(i think) and i'm not surprised it's happened again. it
fucks innocent people. *shrugs*

What ever happened to Taliban?
Were any of their deeds/atrocities in Afghanistan any worse
than this?

But bear in mind the constant blurring of truths that has
occured. Taliban was the Afghan GOVT. AL QAEDA is the
Terrorist Organization, created and funded by CIA.

That's the firghtening thing Le Coeur. It could be you and
me. One of the kids that ended up in Camp XRay was a
British born Pakistani student, had just gone back home to
Peshawar to do some computer courses cheaply, and he some
how, inexplicably ended up in Guantanamo. How or What the
hell? is anybody's guess.

i hear ya.....it's blantantly there in the
article.......SUSPECTED....and i don't know about you, but
i've not seen any trials??

innocent until proven guilty....i think not.

it's the American paranoia with terrorists after 9/11, a lot
more died that day....i think the U.S's fairness died,
everyone is not to be trusted......i'm sure a lot of
immigrants have found it hard to live in the U.S. since then
=/

it's terribly sad

flea, do you write to your local paper and such?

if not, you should. I don't agree with all of what you are
saying, but a voice like yours was meant to be heard.
