U2 - Pop

I know a lot of people, maybe even most people, here hate
U2, but I don't... and I think Pop is an amazing album of
pretty unconventional pop music... Radiohead might blend
electronic music with Rock, but U2 was doing it before
them... Radiohead blends IDM style, and U2 blends more
clubby electro, but it still kicks ass in my opinion... Pop
is real good straight through, and is one of their best I
think!

oh, and Zooropa also kicks ass... especially the song
Daddy's Gonna Pay For Your Crashed Car!

I don't know, I don't think so personally... he's just
really outspoken and stuff... I've always had a lot of
respect for him...

I don't like 'bono', it's nothing to do with 'Rollins' but
he is eloquent.

Do you want to 'get on' bono?

I really have to credit U2 and Radiohead for sparking my
interest, and opening my mind to electronic music... albums
like Pop, Zooropa, and Kid A helped spark my interest in
electronic music...

but he's silly!

Funk, are you twelve? Okay you heard some 'new' things... it
was stolen from people that really fealt/meant it. Early U2
is cool, their pop crap is rank, theft.

the first u2 album was to be produced by martin hannett..
that didn't happen but you can kinda sorta hear martin / joy
division influence in some of their very earliest songs

i have to say i LIKE Bono, i think he means well, eventho
sometimes he comes off as a bit of a BOOB!

Also, i prefer the earlier U2 than the Zooropa or Pop
Albums. i did enjoy their latest tho....and i think The Edge
is an amazing guitarist!

The early country/rock U2 was good.

Oh my God, I hate Bono. In every U2 song, I marvel at Edge's
guitar playing, delight in the rhythm section, and cringe at
his pathetic melodic sense. He pulls weak vocal hooks out of
his pale Irish butt.

Pop is my favorite U2 though! Tons of fun, sleezy weird
goodness. Zooropa is also first rate. LEMON.

you're wrong... Bono's voice is greaT!! :)

yeah, war is good... though I personally think it suffers
from muddy sound... of their earlier stuff I prefer Under a
Blood Red Sky... yes it's a live album, and the sound is
probably worse, but I think it's awesome... 11 O'Clock Tick
Tock is one of their best imo...

one the single for Last Night on Earth (think that's the
song... track 6 from Pop) there is an awesome cover of
Happiness is a Warm Gun the Beatles song...

I've never heard the original though, so I don't know how it
compares... it's from the white album right?

Kick ass song title anyways!

i was wondering, if somebody dissagrees with you, does that
mean he is wrong?

calling somebody an idiot because he doesnt agree with you?

I was calling him an idiot because of the way he gets on,
not because he disagrees with me... I don't care if he does,
but calling me 12 years old, or whatever he called me,
rubbed me the wrong way... and all the posts I've seen of
him recently have been him calling someone else something...
so that's why I called him an idiot... but I really meant
asshole as I said after...
