I like the film, but I prefer Delicatessen or La Cité des
Enfants Perdus.

The only reproach I can make to Amélie is that it
made Yann Tiersen's music cliché.

holy shit, i log out for 5 minutes to write another topic
and there's all this response
i feel comforted with jarworski answer
i dont feel offended by the other answers for the obvious
reason that you're stupid

i dont like that the story isnt that fabulous, and i always
have this good example (i've had to tell this to often) with
the garden gnome: that's a story that was in a newspaper a
few years ago (de telegraaf, mind you), that's happened like
a million times, all the other funneez dont work for me
either, with that guys shoes for instance: i dont fall of my
seat laughing at that
also people like that get crushed in real life, it should
have been more absurd if it had wanted to compell me to it
it's almost a hollywood art movie to me, just too cheesy,
should have been more original, compelling

The film is beautiful--its like a fairytale. Its sad,
thoughtful, funny, (I sound so cliche--Im sleepy!), and I my
heart always melts when she does in that scene at the cafe.

so i saw it in the movie theatre and my train was almost
going so i could walk out 10 minutes before the ending!

so i just got a bottle of wine for newyears from work and i
sneaked it in the theatre when seeing lord of the rings: it,
thank bachus for that, was over in a just like that

I love the way Jeunet filmed Paris., it's both real and
dreamy. but the film itself make me want to chainsaw
children.

I live in Paris and i can say that the film gives an utterly
wrong and false image of this city. Montmatre in just behind
the "pleasure" district Pigalle and is far from being the
safest, clean little place that Jeunet would like it to be.
Misleading and cheap...
