fuck Sweden....

why did they have to say no...now they will, like Denmark,
be forced into it...
And that will really ruin the economy...

Fuck what others say...I don't think euro is a cool idea,
but now that it's already running, nothing can stop it. Not
even stubborn Scandinavians

Denmark did the same thing, and our krone hasnt had a higher
value than now that's true, but that will turn around when
we WILL get euro.
We're just being stubborn that's all.
But fuck that..I hate politics anyway

can you understand that if we want to do europe properly we
need it?

if we were europeans in the heart we wouldn't care for the
value of our national currency, that makes no sense

offline Paco from Gothenburg (Sweden) on 2003-09-14 14:23 [#00862449]

I want to care for our national currency. It felt awful when
the Finnish marks disappeared.

Besides, 5 of Sweden's biggest trade partners don't even use
Euros. USA, UK, Denmark, Asia and Russia.

DIE FRENCHIES! :)

another way of looking at it america despite it being easier
dont use the decimal system and are probley the most
powerfull country in the world so sticking with something
seems to work

yeah, euro is no good...to many coins :)

but we'll start using it in the near future as
well...unfortunately
i hope something goes wrong and we dont join the EU (which
will never happen, btw)

okay then
but its the future: globalizing, why not start with it as
soon as possible?

offline big from lsg on 2003-09-14 17:24 [#00862708]

we could easily do well on our own, if it wasnt for the
crazy governament...they fucked up our economy really well,
and the only thing that can save them from looking bad is
joining eu...i hope something fails
you know, not all countries are globalizing...we could be
one of those...
well know we have it and we'll have to live with it
shit

could someone please give a brief, to-the-point summary of
why switching to the euro is a bad idea? i know relatively
little about it and would like to know why it is such a hot
topic.

please remove as much opinion from the explaination as
possible. just the facts ma'am.

offline tolstoyed from the ocean on 2003-09-14 17:40 [#00862734]
Points: 50073 Status: Moderator

one thing that bothered ppl after switching to euro was that
the prices got higher afterwards

offline big from lsg on 2003-09-14 17:41 [#00862737]

offline tolstoyed from the ocean on 2003-09-14 17:42 [#00862738]

Points: 23729 Status: Lurker | Show recordbag

yes, but no more than 7 precent i believe in other
countries, buteven that should be able to have overcome by
going to a cheaper mall or pub, i guess

offline tolstoyed from the ocean on 2003-09-14 17:46 [#00862745]
Points: 50073 Status: Moderator

well, i think once people got used to it, they're ok with
it

it is just that i dont want to join eu :)

offline big from lsg on 2003-09-14 17:47 [#00862746]

because you want your country to be on it own, self
sufficient (an autarchy, or something)?

well, some countries in the europe that are not members of
the eu seem to be doing pretty well
and seeing how big eu countries are attacking eachother for
no real reason...i just dont expect anything good to happen
i guess + i like to keep everything in the small comunity
