anybody pick up Echoes lately? it's quite good, i mean if
you own all of their stuff, it is probably pointless other
than it's a nice collection sequenced together..

Clobe Smith from over here on 2001-11-10 20:59 [#00050261]

what songs are on it?

Ophecks on 2001-11-10 21:46 [#00050265]

It's good, but too much latter day Floyd, like Division Bell
garbage, not enough Have a Cigar, Cymbeline, and Childhood's
End, the fuckers.

cun8er from 8ercun, on 2001-11-14 00:19 [#00051677]

still i am very surprised at tunes like jugband blues and
bike made it on. could have been a lot more latter day
garbage -

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2001-11-14 00:34 [#00051679]

The Division Bell is awesome!!! Later day garbage my ass...

Clobe Smith from over here on 2001-11-14 01:55 [#00051696]

thanks ross.

division bell is a good album, but it's not great. no where
near dark side, animals or even atom heart mother

and jugband blues is a GREAT! song

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2001-11-14 02:15 [#00051697]

I love it... it has some gorgeous songs on it... but it's
totally different from the earlier Waters floyd...

thanksomuch from planet claire on 2001-11-14 03:49 [#00051717]

i don't like pink floyd.... but then again.. i suck.

Lobster Monkey from Vietnam on 2001-11-14 04:01 [#00051719]

Yeah, piss off back to kfc.com, sucka.

Ross on 2001-11-14 04:10 [#00051721]

thanksomuch, i figured you would actually..what have you
heard, if you love radiohead there'S got to be some you'd
like

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2001-11-14 04:12 [#00051724]

Check out the song Echoes... it has your cool melodic, lyric
parts, but also has funk and ambience mixed in... it's an
amazing song...

Ross on 2001-11-14 04:14 [#00051728]

i agree funkmaster, fucking amazing conclusion on that song

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2001-11-14 04:17 [#00051731]

yeah, it builds to such an excellent climax...

crayon_kid from the sewers under your house on 2001-11-14 04:57 [#00051746]

opheks: there are probably more later pink floyd songs on it
because before the wall, most of thier albums only had about
6 tracks.

cun8er from 8ercun, on 2001-11-14 05:25 [#00051758]

Re: funkmaster and the "Latter day Floyd"

The latter stuff = apart from a few singles here and there,
in my opinion is/was rather weak - especially in comparison
to such wonderful compositions as AHM and the like. And yes,
jugband blues is amazing

thanksomuch from planet claire on 2001-11-14 07:23 [#00051774]

ross, i have heard quite a lot.. i guess i grew out of them
(?)... stop taking drugs, and stopped liking that sort of
stuff...

lobster, if you are narkotic or what ever, i don't even need
to waiste my time by yelling at you. you blow.

Röyksoppen on 2001-11-15 15:13 [#00052300]

Have "Echoes" the best album-art ever? I think so...

Ophecks from Nova Scotia on 2001-11-15 15:45 [#00052327]

Good point, Dblhlx. :)
But I don't like latter day Floyd, it's too big and
overproduced. Cheesy huge drums and boring wanker guitar
solos. They NEED Waters!

Narkotic from Orange County, California, USA on 2001-11-15 16:21 [#00052363]

i'm not some lobster, I never use any name but my own. you
bipolar beyotch!

Narkotic from Orange County, California, USA on 2001-11-15 16:22 [#00052364]

and, pink floyd is the original originator, love them to
bits

Ophecks from Nova Scotia on 2001-11-15 16:23 [#00052365]

That was cruel.
