Ambient AE...

you know... I was thinking... autechre doesnt really have
many straight up ambient tracks... and its kind of funny,
cause they seem like theyd be really good at it...

I went through all my AE mp3s... and id say 95% of them have
beats... I think it would be sweet if they did an all
ambient album...

i bet it would be haunting as fuck...

dunno... just a thought :)

yeah....vletrmx21, bronchusevenmx24, Foil, Yulquen are all
good tracks.

Proves that they CAN

I was just making a semi-ambient mix CD as a going
away/parting present for a close friend, and i realised that
Amber (if selected ambient works 85-92 is an Ambient album)
is very much an ambient album, and a few tracks from the
tri-repetae-garbage era: bronchuseven, stud, overand.
I think they are very good at it
too

yeah, for sure... but i talking straight up, no beats.

i mean, you can definately call those tracks ambient... but
I think a beatless ambient album by them would be amazing

i would love to see an album with ambient pieces as
vletrmx21 and bronhusevenmx24..i guess it would be really
melancholic and epic....lets hope they are sometime going to
do it.

not really...

but you should get incunabula... its so chill!

Kalpol Introl and Bronchus 2 sound pretty ambient. They're
not completely beatless though...

at dusk.
i like it a lot.

it would be good, yeah... Amber/AntiEP is my favourite Ae :
)

but now i doubt that they will come back to melodic again,
it was years ago...

I guess them boys just love their beats :)

Yeah, that's the thing. They grew up out of the b-boy
culture of American hip-hop and electro transplanted into
British youth culture (as much music was during the 80s).
Hard to shake off a big influence like that...

Still managed to make diverse, musically-challenging sounds
regardless...

You need to listen to my new ambient track. It is very
autechre influenced in a sort of influencial sort of way,
and it has no beats.

I think an entirly ambient album by ae would be awesome!

Hmmmm, that would be something to behold if it's anything
like i think it would be.

beatless?

Do you know or have checked much ambient Eno? If he hadn't
done Apollo etc there wouldn't be SAW2 or any of this so
called 'ambient'. Download 'Apollo', 'music for airports'
etc nd read what he says about the cooncept behind those
releases.. it's interesting.

Has anyone ever heard of someone called Robert Leiner or
something...my uncle gave me some ambient shit of his and
some of it was pretty decent. But that was years ago.

It came across to me asking whether someone else had checked
music out.

You do get far too sensitive and defensive about things
sometimes you know :P

like I said... its hard to interpert things sometimes.

i honestly read it as condesending... or why else would I
have reacted as such?

also... ive had my fair share of attacks in the past, so...
yeah, maybe I do get too defensive...

but regardless, I apologize

Sorry Zeus that you took it as a condescending comment, it
wasn't meant that way. I meant, Eno made the pre cursor to
SAW2, he actually defended his approach and thesis behind
the music, it wasn't just 'buy this you stupid pathetic
sheep' it was interesting. I'll find a link if you like.
