so... what do you guys think about maculay culkin playing
the young hannibal lecter in "the lecter variation"? the
film supposedly takes place between the ages of 12 and 25.
im assuming it details his descent into becoming a serial
killer. i honestly feel it could be quite a good film,
though im sure some will hate it, sheerly for its casting,
no matter how good it is.

If he doesn't slap his cheeks and scream then it could be
good.

he was really cold and detatched and kinda like lecter in
some ways, in that.

his eyes were very empty, like hannibal's.

Unless Thomas Harris writes it, it will be shite.

well, it's based off thomas harris's implied past for
lecter. plus, he had little to nothing to do with the other
films, and i quite like them.

"Implied past"? Fuck, that makes up about two minutes worth
of screentime. And as for him having "little to nothing to
do" with the other films, he did write the novels on
which they were based didn't he? The only film which
deviates from the Harris novel to any great degree is
Manhunter, and that was, frankly, crap.

And I don't care how well Culkin played a psycho in his
comeback flick, the idea is ludicrous.

like i said, some people will undoubtedly hate the idea no
matter how good it turns out to be.
