Been listening to this and SAW 85-92 when reading. Both great albums, both producers pushing the equipment to the limit and drenching it in reverb.

If you like incunabula, check also B12: electro soma (warp). The sound of incunabula comes from early b12-releases.

My vote goes to Eggshell as well. The way it just builds up and layers stuff. Very nice bassline too.
The whole album is great and Lowride has really inspired me to use sample&hold sounds. It's the blipping stuff that come after the jazz-piano samples.

The best album by AE IMO. I'm a sucker for that early 90's sound.
The last 3 tracks: WindWind, Lowride, and 444 are the highlights and an excellent closing to a terrific album.

I've always been very fond of Eggshell and Lowride. I love Incunabula. I still remember a decade ago popping into Duchies record store, seeing it on the rack, and picking it up on a whim, never having heard of them before or anything. My first ever electronic album. This was at a time in my life where I was listening to White Zombie and KMFDM every day.

Artemis is right, Incunabula sounds a lot more like B12 then it does Aphex Twin.
So, if anything they were trying to emulate B12. And the end result was amazing.

Its an album of my life- istarted with Ae from thi one - to this day when i listen to it i have goose skin
like i said before - hole definition of IDM is on this album, you cant give nothing more to this one , its absolute border , you cant go further than incunabula
by the way - Incunabula its from Latin, and the meaning of this word is " childhood time" - its time when baby is veeery young , months...
i love others from Ae , but this is unbeatable at least for me

The last 3 tracks are my favorite, most definitely. '444' is the best AE song to date IMO. There isn't one dull song on this release....flawless. Best AE too date IMO.
As for Orbital....perhaps they could of? It would had to of been after the Brown album though, because the released their first two albums before Incunabula.
