I've never really thought about how something so obvious.. a
reference point we all use to keep time, draws such a clear
parallel between astrology and religon..

Jesus was the son of God, no lie
but they might be talking about the sun up in the sky..

The Sun, that hangs on the cross of the zodiac
The zodiac with twelve signs to be exact

Each is a house, and you should keep in mind,
Each house equals, a period of time

The time, two thousand years and that's a fact,
It's called an age or a house in the zodiac

The twelve disciples, are twelve months of reason,
The four gospels signify the four seasons

When Jesus fed the multitude with two fishes,
it signigfied the age of pices, not fish on dishes..

here...i did a little research - i guess i was a bit wrong

our week starts with nedelja (sunday) and it means the day
on wich we dont work (consecrated day)
ponedeljek (monday)-day after sunday
torek (tuesday) - it means 2nd day after sunday (it comes
from vtori)
sreda (wednesday)- middle of the week
cetrtek (thursday)- 4th day after sunday
petek (friday) - 5th day after sunday
sobota (saturday) - it comes from hebrew word sabat which as
it was said means day of rest

there, not much better to my 1st version :)

Strange the way the Russian days kept some link to religion
though...even if they were only on the weekend. Mon - Fri
work time...Sat and Sun have your religion. :P

Sabbath - day of rest after all that vodka-drinking

Resurrection - day of gradually coming back to consciousness
with a stinging headache, and eating potato soup ! :D

Did you see that story about the Russian pensioner...he was
64, dropped his last bottle of vodka, had no money to get
more, went into shock and slipped into a coma for two
weeks...I was laughing my head off when I read it.

When he woke up the first thing he asked for was a vodka :D

I get all these wierd stories from around the world on my
mobile.

There was another one where a Russian fella had phoned a
bomb threat through to a womens public sauna hoping to see
them all run out naked. They all got dressed before they
left the building and by the time they were leaving the
police had arrived and caught the man looking out of the
same phone box he had phoned the bomb threat from.

"do nothing day" great!! ^^
(i read somewhere else it was "day after resting day"... but
"do nothing day" sounds better : ))

already said but with a few holes:
Lundi - Moon
Mardi - Mars
Mercredi - Mercury
Jeudi - Jupiter
Vendredi - Venus (in french it is Venus too, not Vénus...)
Samedi - Saturn
Dimanche - derivated from the sun... in latin it was "dies
solis" (sun day), which mutated into "dimanche" (it's pretty
far now... "manche" means "sleeve" (for clothes) or
"Channel" (the sea)... ' _ ')

in japanese:
Getsuyoobi - moon day
Kayoobi - fire day
Suiyoobi - water day
Mokuyoobi - tree day
Kinyoobi - gold/metal day
Doyoobi - earth/soil day
Nichiyoobi - sun day.
