also known as "Life out of Balance". this documentary (part of a trilogy directed and created by Godfrey Reggio and Francis Ford Coppola) is an awesome movie. (more info here)
Music score gorgeously composed by Philip Glass. Remarcable, outstanding documentary from 1983, with an awesome soundtrack you should all buy or at least do yerself a favor and Dl it from slsk.

I found out about the one day showing of the third one (naqoyqatsi) the day after it played in LA...I was so bummed...
To see any of these in a giant theatre with a decent sound system would be the best.
That was the same week I missed Chris Cunninghams' video set...bad week overall.

wonderfull movie, music is bit sick but i like it especially the end with expolding rocket in slow motion.......sad and dramatic - it says something like "stop chill people".

glass is my favorite composer too, i recently found out, especially his early stuff, i'd like to be able to play music in contrary motion. i've had the koyaniqatski soundtrack for ages and have liked it a lot, but when you then hear, for instance, dance pieces, they sound like a rip-off of that, and so with a lot of other stuff. icct hedral for instance sounds just like a version with typical glass instrumentation, especially that lame singing. 2d favorite: score to dracula, thats good. all the piano pieces i've written (2) are havily based on glass, some guitar stuff too: minimal. saw a ballet on lowlands festival with 8 celli, i believe i have a cd by those 8, have to just check the names.
that's what i have to say on this, besides that 3 cd opera i like, einstein on the beach not: sounds so 80's, second part of symphony 2 i thought the best classical piece i know, it only might be too smoothly good
thank you for listening, goodbye
