How is it really? Can any of the fellow US-residents tell
me about it? I want to get a premium account, but i really
don't trust anything besides cash.....

actually, phobia was saying an alternate method (and
probably safer) would be to find someone trustworthy who
lived relatively closer to me who had paypal and have them
wire the money for me.

Yeah, you could do that too, no problem.
Would save you shipping costs :)

I live relatively close to Sweden so I'd just send it by
post.

i would never ever ever trust that company with any
financial information.

there are billions of complaints against them all over the
internet.

I had an account once, and obvisouly have it no more. I
still sell on ebay, but never with PayPal.

Paypal is VERY safe, easy and fast. Highly recommended. I've
been using it for a very long time, every day.

BlatantEcho: Billions of complaints, huh? ;)

yeah, that's why you don't have any money from me :)

*though I think I might send cash or something, I'm working
this summer, so money is coming*

let me dig up the links, I wouldn't use paypal if my life
depended on it, and I've sold thousands of $$ worth of DVDs,
CDs, textbooks, electronics on the internet for a long time.

You're more likely to be mugged in the street that be a
victim of online credit card fraud.

yeah, but i generally have a distrust of credit card
companies - just because my family has always had trouble
with them. i'll just go the safe route and mail a money
order.

offline danbrusca from Derbyshire (United Kingdom) on 2003-08-24 15:28 [#00835144]

But you're more likely to be mugged on your way to mail it
than for anything to go wrong with the card transaction...

i understand your point, but i don't have a credit card and
couldn't trust myself with it anyways. plus i don't even
have a bank account.

Where do you buy international money orders in the US? And
where should it be mailed to xltronic?

paypal has caused no problems for me but i dunno it has the
potential too, i only use it for bank account\instant
transfers so they get no money from me.

I've never had any problems with it. It's so damn
convenient, I'll take any risk there might be. I couldn't
be cleaned out for very much at any given time anyway!

I had to succumb to paypal in order to get my beloved
Passarani CD. They took $1.95 out of my account (Visa bank
account card with no credit) and gave it back to me with a
verification number.

After the posts today, I will never use it to buy something
from a private person. Seems you can get royally screwed, if
the other end isn't doing things legally.
I will probably cancel my account anyway.

-P
