check out this track 'wormhole' by ed rush & optical which
can be found on their '98 album with the same title. listen
to the abstract bass, it's a mind trip! feels like the bass
has become this living alien electronic creature trying to
communicate with you through this track :-O

I never liked the album, I thought it was really weak
compared to the tracks they were releasing at the time. It
thought shít like Bacteria and Gas Mask was a lot stronger.

i agree with you that the virus 12's have stronger tracks,
they're my all time favourite d'n'b releases. but wormhole
is still a classic that i love. they should release a
compilation with VRS001 to 005 in the future. that would be
a killer album for sure!

Yep Torque was an amazing album...I preferred it much more
than wormhole. I preferred Dom & Roland -Industry to
Wormhole too.

hah! i'm listening to industry right now. it's great, but
wormhole is still my nr 1.

i don't have torque, but i have all the ed rush & nico 12"s
which torque is made out of.

Champion Jungle Sound by Kemet Crew also had some
interesting early drum and bass tracks on.

i fell through a wormhole today and ended up at in Lauryn
Hill's bathroom. I nearly died, and ended up in Brooklyn
with no money and no way home with no one knowing where I
was. So I had to prostitute myself to the local subway
perverts in the public restroom stalls in order to raise
enough funds to buy a chainsaw and kill a taxi driver so I
could steal a ride home. My exodus from New York was a
police chase down the Brooklyn state bridge and I fell into
a wormhole yet again - this time back in time, and I found
myself in heated battle with Genghis Khan. Turned out I
smashed his ricecakes. He wasn't too happy about that but
that's another story for another post. Anyways, I fell
through another wormhole during the battle and found myself
back home, but of course my tomfoolery with the space-time
continuum quickly recorrected itself, because as the
wormholes i had fell through opened, they just as quickly
closed up, and what had happened in Brooklyn and Mongolia
never occurred. Go figure. Damn wormholes.

you HAVE to hear it! matrix is optical's little brother.
'sleepwalk' was his first album, and the second album to
come out on virus.

well, it's hard to choose the best track. but i would say
the standouts are:

sleepwalk (the title track)
temperament
apache
the saint
