i never liked linkin park from the second they came out, i
knew they were photocopied reprints of some longlost shit
boyband that wanted to be all they could be.....
linkin park is in no way intelligent nor dance, nor even
music to my ears for that matter. it's horrific , it rapes
the very good sounds of musicians today, and i hate it.
down with linkin park.
thats all i have to say. if i offend you, i apologize.

I like that new song, If I was 14 again would totally be
into them. I think this is really the first time I ran into
something where I dont like something cause I feel to old
for it ... as dumb as that sounds.

Like that rap and roll stuff is something I really dont like
and dont understand why its so popular. But what ever eh ?

fuck linking park
fuck linking park
fuck linking park
fuck linking park
fuck linking park
fuck linking park

they polute my radio and tv with their horrible music. It's
mostly the rap and the singing that irritates me.

sorry i did not mean to disobay you threadmaker. but i will
diss linking park in every thread with their name in the
title. i can't control it!

the music itself is not that bad. it would be tolerable
without the vocals. but not really anything i would be
intrested in.

they chose the name "linkin park" so that they would be near
limp bizkit in record bins, there fore more chance of sales

that would be breakbeats, with noise-percussion (like
slipknot) in background

I don't think linkin park even write their own music. Not
sure. I know a lot of commercialized pop bands don't. The
music may be good, but I just can't get past the singing to
listen to it. It's like fingernails on a chalkboard to me.

I know linkin park were formed a year before they came out
into the public eye... they were in a tiny corner of my bros
Kerrang magazine. so they write they're own music.

two of them are also very good artists.
Fucking good artists in fact.

The Dj bloke loves squarepusher and Aphex... it inspires him
for tracks like session.

If some of you guys take the time out you might learn
something, otherwise you're just reacting to them like pop
fans react to our 'weird' IDM

Be more open minded. Hope this helps Junktion?

I'm with Chri5py - half of you IDM snobs are too far up your
own ass to realise that "pop" music can actually be good
music.

Acting this way fdoes not make you look smart it make you
look like a closed minded 14 year old.

(sample?) is quite funky. Shame about the rest of it
really...

thanx Chri5py and od_step_cloak ...I was looking for some
responses that were a little deeper than the usual, and you
have my point of view exactly.
We shouldn't let our musical taste be based on pop and
non-pop if there is inspiration hidden within.

and their concert @ wembley arena in london was the best
concert of my life (paid £70 for it btw)

I don't detest them. Most of their tracks just don't really
do much for me. However Breaking the Habit is somewhat
interesting (i.e. kind of different from what you would
normally hear from a band like them) and on your
recommendation I will check that track Session too.

I see some people nagging about how linkin park used the
dali paintings for their video's. I.E. in a commercial way.
but most people don't know that dali made paintings for a
living. he reproduced and reproduced he's paintings because
it made money. he's art wasen't even sencere. and the linkin
park music isn't sencere either. always tapping out of the
teenangst barrel.

so let me get this straight, you liked them before they
became commercially successful, but stopped afterwards?
Pretty stupid imo... I like them... what do all these stupid
terms "pre-packaged" etc mean? How do you know if they don't
write their own songs if you don't even listen to it? It is
really sickening here how people are towards pop music...
they don't bother judging whether it's good or not, but just
label it crap because it's popular... stupid!

well most popular music tends to be formulaic because the
only reason it is released is money, producers invent a
popular compositional formula and they replicate it. Simple
economic values really. Yes there could be decent pop groups
and there definetely are some... but anyway I wouldn't be
able to appreciate them. Linkin Park are just boring, both
the lyrics, vocals, riffs, rhythmologies, samples etc etc.
Drunken Mastah wrote down the formula of their songwriting
in a past thread. Maybe you should look for it.

mm no, people see it for what it is - the same few musical
ideas repeated endlessly (which doesn't necessarily means
something is bad), jazzed up with some electronic pottering
around (quite unconvincingly, I might add), combined with
such dire lyrics that might even make Trent Reznor laugh.

this combined with the slickness and absolute emptiness of
their videos makes them incomparably shit.

this all has nothing to do with them being "pop".

No I wasn't saying that Linkin Park are doing it only for
the money. But that wouldn't be a good thing since that
would make them retards. Look don't feel bad about liking
something about them. I would just advise you to look deeper
and discover what that certain thing is. You also shouldn't
project your personal tastes on other people. The enjoyment
of music is based in a large part on past experiences of the
individual. Maybe you like them because you have a certain
connection to their songs that has nothing to do with pure
musicology. You shouldn't presume that others should feel
the same way and unless they do they are elitist fuckers. I
hope that made sense.
