yea,it pretty much made sense
but then again, i do think they r a quality band
and ure right about personal experiences and character, i
really feel full of that primal teenage anger, and thats way
i can relate to them, and thats why the lp concerat was for
me one of the most emotional moments experienced thru music

and thats way u maybe relate to aphex, because ure more into
technology and whateva..and not love :)) xaxa mature cheese

anywayz..each to its own..

I haven't listened to aphex twin for quite some time. And
I'm not into technology myself. Most people here aren't .
We're into interesting compositions. And I don't want to
sound harsh or patronising but I can fill a couple of dozen
pages with "rock" groups that communicate anger and whatnot
that are miles ahead synthetically from aphex twin in my
opinion. And Linkin Park are just unbearable to me because
they are the incarnation of cliche and repetition (and I'm
not referring to their social stance).

I can't say I have ever identified with something that has
had extended airplay. If my memory serves me right of
course.

c
well there is a problem somewhere than
u dont really listen to pop music, and thats way u shouldnt
judge it

i for example dont listen to reggae music, and im not
judging it

I have listened to it and I always try to be
objective...therefore I have the right to judge it. I am not
passing judgement on a genre (pop is not a genre) but to
every musical piece that I get exposed to. Simple as that.

The IDM hidden in Linkin Park is three Absynth patches and
some lame scratching.

"I listened to Hybrid Theory before it got popular and
back
then I actually liked it. After that, I almost puked when
hearing their tracks everywhere. "

WTF does it being popular have to do with it being good or
bad music?

"I can't say I have ever identified with something that

Umm I have. The songs about being pissed off or about losing
someone close t oyou, they deal with ALLLL that kinda shit
in pop music, it's the kinda shit every teenager has to deal
with, which is why it's pop, everyone in it's demographic
should be able t oidentify with it, even people older than
the demographic should be able to remember what the
experience is like that the song deals with.

I can identify with a LOT of crappy boy and girl songs but I
don't necessarily think they're good music, or want to
listen to them.

I'm not a big Linkin Park fan... I was just arguing on the
side of pop music in general... I do love lots of pop music,
but people here seem to write it all off just because it's
popular...

I generally don't identify with lyrics and if the music
doesn't make an impact I simply move on at least
temporarily. I admit though that sometimes it's hard to be
objective with something you didn't even initially like,
especially when you're bombarded by it everywhere you may
go. Anyway I have to make something clear: I don't think
one's tastes reflect one's intellect in any way.
