My ickle pigeon had a bluey gren bruise thing under one og his wings , which had gone down alo but was still there so i thought it'd best be checked out,so i took him to the vets today at 4:20 and waited for a bit , the woman behind the counter said she loved pigeons and by the look of mine i was taking good care of him. Then the vet ( who had a stupid accent) called me in,he says ' so what do we have here , an di say 'umm,a pigeon' he has a look on his face as if he's pissed off that im wasting his time or something, takes a look at him , asks me where i found him i tell him , say he's been fine and ive had him a few days but thought its best to get him checked out,he says well he is painfully thin , has mild (i shall spell this phoneticly) di-o-re-ah,and the ''bruise'' under his wing is sceptacimia(sp?)i said oh , well he has put on wieght since ive had him,and the bruise has gone down alot! he looked cross at me and says well,im sorry but we're going to have to put him to sleep..
wanker , i bet he just cant be botherd to prescribe him anti-biotics.
anyways i thought id tell you how stupid that is and how mean vets are...

I had a really nice vet, without whose help and off-the-clock care, my cat Dieter would certainly be dead. He had a bladder obstruction and partial kidney failure. I had run out of money to take care of him when the bills reached $1000. The vet, with actual tears in her eyes, let me know that I may have to think of "arrangements" for Dieter. Well, after we talked a bit and she got to know my background in science, etc, she decided to sort or 'deputize' me as a vet, taught me how to administer the drugs and the subcutaneous IV, and even lent me a big dog cage to keep him in, rather than in the vet's cage where it was costing lots. He had to stay in a cage because he was catheterized and dripping pee. Anyway, long story short, Dieter got better and is the coolest cat in the world.

I'm sorry, anon. hope you can still feel joy in watching other pigeons enjoy their life, if they do, where you live.

You'd have thought vets would have more compassion that doctors. You can understand the next next next mentality of doctors cos they're under pressure, but vets pretty much do the job cos they love animals... I guess he just doesn't think much of pigeons
Also, I mourn for your spelling too Anon.

sounds like it already happened :(
I would have told the doc to f* off, the bring the bubby pigeon back a week later when it is all healthy and shit, and let it fly around in his office.
Can't win 'em all, but pigeons are flying rats, but good on your for the compassion and integrety to treat a living thing with such respect.
