new prefuse ep is awesome. i think it's reviewed at absorb.
it's all over slsk, as is some weird 2003 promo album with
over 30 songs. haven't completed the download yet, but
sounds nice

The best album to come out this year is by far The
Clientele's "The violet hour"

AWESOME!

...but not electronic...

Check it out! MP3 and album info!

Yeah, Chris Clark is the one I'm looking forward to most.
He's the new blue chipper, in my mind. New Plaid, too...
mmmm.

I don't know why, but I've sort of become disenchanted with
Warp over the past year or so... don't ask me why.

site. sounds 1337

yeah i forgot about chris clark and luke vibert.

i downloaded empty the bones a while ago and was really
impressed (since i was dissapointed by ceramics), i'll buy
it for sure.

dont know what to expect buy vibert though. im still
waiting for another plug album, his best alias imo.

offline disasemble from United States on 2003-08-19 13:55 [#00828444]

the closest thing to plug is amen andrews

personally i was never a huge fan of the plug record like
everyone else i talk to is. its good, just, im more into
tally ho and his planet mu eps, which is just my preference
of course. i enjoy most of his stuff more or less.

ive heard yoseph and its alrigiht. very acid/analogue type
of sound. feels kinda light but its enjoyable.

"Sheath" is going to be Warp's best album this year.

I saw a guy that had 1337 tatooed on his chest a couple of
days ago. I just hope and pray that it had some alternative
meaning to him and that he didn't know the computer teen
geek meaning of it..

my fave things out of the new batch are the prefuse and the
lfo single freak. Wasn't that grabbed by Vibert, Req,
Plaid. Out of the 3 I'd say Req is probably the most up my
alley, but mainly cuz it's in kind of a hiphop blueprint.

I been disenchanted with warp over the last year or so
to...
Rephlex and Mu feel more exciteing to me these days - Warp
reminds me of '97 too much for some wierd reason - Like
Ninja Tune and Mo Wax and stuff - Like that music sometimes
but is generally a little dull I've always thought -
Listening to real soul/funk/jazz blows that stuff away...
IMO!

well i have mp3's of all relases
mentioned above(except lfo-contains-only-weird-noise-mp3's)

here's my opinion

plaid : cheesy and clubby, simple and effective but i neever
was a fan (i think that p-brane and booc ep are my
favorites)

chris clark: interesting way producing, but pretty boring
songwriting...few good tracks others so so

req: hermetic, analog and dusty. it could bre rocrded
anytime in the past. good, but i'd like that there's no
human voice at all..is it realy so hard to make REALLy
instrumental hip hop album?

luke vibert: laidback downtempo acid. home listening only.
contains only good songs and you get addicted asap

prefuse: two and half songs and tons of patterns. useful in
case that you actually listen how is something done
notsimply enjoying the music

I'm hyped about the new Req. I loved Sketchbook.

Curious about the new LFO. I liked that little "Millionaire
Dogs" track on the sampler.
