I do most of my producing on drum machines. My Favourites are my Korg Electribe ER-1 And ES-1, as well as Roland tr808 for classic Electro. What Does Everyone Else Use?

my uncle just got korg electribe ER-1 and i got to try it last weekend. it's the only one i've tried. i'd like to buy ER-1 or the more expensive model ES-1. the diffrence between the two is that with the ES-1 you can load samples (if i'm not mistaken)

Yeah Thats Right Mr Alberto. Best Bit About The Korgs Is U Can Motion Sequencing Any Knob to get mad panning effects and filters, Sounds really organic. I would like to have a go on a 'MACHINEDRUM' cant remember who makes them.

Out of the vintage ones Roland TR-808 or TR-606 is topping my list. Out of the new ones, Elektron Machinedrum. That thing is a monster, too bad it's über-expensive. I think someone had the Machinedrum in their avatar here.

It's a POS and you know it :)
I hate how Roland are raping all the old model numbers and imitating the styling of the old boxes. Recent example being the SH-32. Nothing wrong with the sound, but come on..it's not analog or vintage no matter how SH it's labeled.

The Yamaha RY30 is a forgotten Gem...
Resonant filters et al... and some great groove features...
Dunno what the price is like nowadays. but I imagine it'll be pretty cheap as not many people are in the know about it...

Another classy drum machine is the forgotten Roland R-70. It has all the 808 and 909 kits too.
Cheapo option for getting Roland sounds are the Boss Dr series, the 550 and 660.

yeah i haven't used much but like dr groove and the mc303 rocks, do find it a lil annoying with the 303 that if you want to dump any user patterns back onto it it clears the whole user patterns, but hey the arpeggio is great and some really good sounds, easy to program, i would like a mc909 they sound nice, i like the idea of having yr patterns saved on a card and its got a load of other groovie shit.

Es-1 samples at 32khz, Its a good machine, but could be so much better, if it had seperate fx routing for each noise it would kik ass, but that would probably double the price. Looks like korg have released two new electribes with vacuum tube compression, Should take the cold digital edge off of the sounds. Im looking forward to trying one out.

TR707's excellent value for money - Really good programming and some of the sounds are identical to the 909.

dr. rhythm
it was great, you programmed it so it was playing all the drum sounds at once continouosly, then you set the volume on the amp to max and pointed the speaker at the music class next door, then set it off.
then you ran down the school corridor pissing yourself laughing when the teacher came out wondering what the fuck was going on.
1986 was so much fun :)
