I uploaded a varied selection of icelandic music to my
homepage. it covers everything from IDM, Rock/Hardcore,
hip-hop/rap, drum&bass, ambient etc.. the oldest track is
from 1981 by Purrkur Pillnikk.

we've got some great talent here so check it out :)

ICELANDIC MP3's

if you dl all of them, tell me what track(s) you like the

Sadjei - Rekið Kaupendur is a great instrumental hip-hop
track ala DJ Shadow and RJD2. it's by a relatively unknown
icelander.

well i have a long delayed letter i'm sending him and i have
his email.....i'll prolly check his site later as well.

his music is SO awesome, i hope iceland inspired him to make
more....and i hope he comes back.

he may not have internet access, and i know his job was
outdoors.....so that may explain his absense....but he is
missed!!!

btw.....i kinda sorta wished you'd put discriptions of what
the music is like next to the mp3's just because it takes ME
a long time to d/l a track and i'd rather just download
tracks i'm LIKELY to like....know what i mean.....the AMPOP
is a for sure thing, but some of these others i'm not too
sure about....

if i had a fast connection this wouldn't be a problem, so i
appreciate you putting them up.....it's just the reality of
my situation. =0)

i'll pick ones with interesting names....ehheheheh

You should also get nr 2 Bang Gang - So Alone? (the
video for this song is also good)

their whole album "You" is great. The last track on it is a
beautiful cover of "In Heaven" from the film Eraserhead by
David Lynch

Bang Gang's website

no problem :)

i was actually suprised when i found out that 'superman' was
an icelandic song. THEY KICK ASS LIVE! :D i saw them live
last year. the lead singer stripped at the end of the show.
he was not in a very good shape so he took advantage of that
and bounced his tits up and down like a madman :D ahh
memories!

Hey, Alberto Balsam - I know a guy from Iceland who is a hip
hop producer. His name is Magnus, he has brother called
Kalli (or Kalle) - anyone you know?

I'm trying to remeber that... I think they're called
Subterranean.

oh yeah. i think i know who you're talking about. he calls
himself magze, he's a rapper but i didn't know he was a
producer too. Subterranean split up few years ago. i think
he's in some band now, i don't know the name.

He lives in Stockholm right now I believe... Yeah, he's into
making really creative/alternative hiphop tracks now.
Unfortunatley I haven't seen him since last year but I've
heard from a mutual friend that he's making music at a very
high rate - track after track after track.

I think he's been involved in many little projects here and
there since they did their album.

Well, I'm downloading some of the Icelandic tracks now. I
remeber seeing a documentary about Icelandic music a few
years back which I really enjoyed - they seem much more
creative over there. It was when Sigur Rós where not very
known over here, they where in the movie and I loved it.

Þú þyrftir virkilega að troða Prince Valium þarna inn
líka. Maðurinn er einn mesti snillingur íslensku
rafsenunnar að mínu mati.
