i just saw squarepusher in nottingham. Afterwards i saw tom
in the bar and went up to him. Chatted about a few things,
cracked a few jokes, got his autograph. Hes an ace bloke.

me was there too!

what a night
a better crowd reaction than when i saw him at glasto...

...and who was the support dj?
it was meant to be surgeon?

was that not surgeon? He was crap whoever he was. Kept
playing aphex twin tracks at like, 2/3 speed. He fucked me
off. He was on for over 2 hours as well. I have to say, i
was kinda disappointed with squarepusher too. But fuck it, i
met Tom J and chatted to him. It made it all worthwhile

did you happen to ask tom about any new material release
dates?

no, but he did play a lot of new stuff. I wish i did in
retrospect. Instead i asked him where i could get a copy of
buzz caner, to which he told me he had no idea. I said i was
gonna just download it cause if he couldnt tell me then id
never find it. He told me 'yeah man, fuck it, download all
my tracks. I only download stuff anyway' his mates agreed.
Then we joked about autographs and cheesey messages. He put
'keep it real' on mine and 'oh behave' on my mates. And so
on and so on.

I saw him in sheffield, it was nice! Surgeon rocks! Did
you tell Tom he was crap that night?

hahaha no i lied my ass off, said he was great.

I didnt like it that much though. The P.A. was shite for
starters, and he kept playing random shite on top of
everything, and stopping tracks 60 seconds into them getting
started, and spending like 15 out of every 20 minutes doing
stupid things, then 5 minutes playing a decent track...to
which he'd play random shite over the top. He did a fucking
ace version of come on my selector to finish though.

that's what great about squarepusher - he doesn't give a
fuck about the piracy issue, yet he still manages to sell
records. Odd. I wish I could see the Pusher live, but I'm in
Texas so no dice.

I saw him on fri & it was pretty special, shame you guys
didn't have such a great set, but atleast you got to speak
to him.........I would give my left testicle for a sit down
& a beer with him, mind you we'd probably just end up
talking about shite like aphextriplet

yeah i know man, i wish i thought about what to say before i
went up to him. Fortunately i managed not to suck his dick
too much though, theres always that danger of going into the
'you are GOD' [etc] mode.

mixing desk type thing, and the nobs time stretched,
rewound, fraction looped, and all sorts of other fucking
amazing things. I WANT ONE. Who knows of such devices?

Go Plastic is by far the best Squarepusher album for drill
if thats what your into, it still blows my socks off
everytime!!!!!! Selection 16 is alot more laid back with
Jazz, Techno, Acid & odds. Feed me Wierd Things is a
grrrreat album, Smedleys Melody is wicked.
