I've recently read 2010: Odyssey 2 and 2060: Odyssey 3, and
I'm currently reading 3001: Final Oddysey. I've always been
particular about the Science Fiction I read, and Clarke has
always been one of my favourites (along with Philip K. Dick
and Isaac Asimov). I strongly recommend people buy the
series (there's four of them, including 2001: A Space
Odyssey, but that book is different to the film, while the
sequels move on from the film).

What do you think of 3001 ? Personally I thought it wasn't
upto the standards of the first three.

Didnt like the '2010' film either - Hollywood cash in
methinks......

I'm only a few chapters into 3001 (started reading it
today). So far, I'm enjoying it.

I haven't yet seen the film version of 2010, but I've heard
that it is good.

Really ? I have to say that personally I felt that 2001
(film) was somewhere in the region of 2056% better ! That
said it could be because 2010 has 'the bloke from Jaws in'
which is all very confusing for someone simple minded like
myself.....

I've only read 2001 and I HATED IT!

real bad writing - like a cheap thrill novel.
