I aquired quite a collection of live shows, including several that are all improv. They are all very unique. Aside from the vocals the cover of Animals rocks. Even the vocals aren't awful, but obviously les claypool doesn't sound like waters.

Oh, this is very nice. I've been without internet for a while (still am), and didn't know anything about it. I will pre-order since I have every other Les Claypool related CD.
Anyway, my favourite is Pork Soda.

I cannot decide which of these four is the best: Sailing the Seas of Cheese Pork Soda Tales From the Punchbowl Brown Album (deffinately unterrated ,you're right Oddioblender)
And I can't believe nobody mentioned Suk on This! which is among the best live albums I've had pleasure to listen to.
By the way, their return was kind of dissapointing to me. Not really bad, but I expected much more from the original lineup.

frizzle fry is really good. it's interesting that it is because Larry didn't really write the guitar for most of the songs.. So they sound like more of a main part of the song, rather than a complimentary part to the bassline, like usual. It makes it sound much heavier when he's playing a lot of chords on that album, rather than the simple few-note lines he usually does.
I really like how the brown album was recorded.. I like the sound of the drums especially.. even though brain isn't as unique as a drummer.
Also, someone should point out Les owes a lot of his annoying vocal style to the Residents... Also the occasional weird, deliberately-crappy sounding guitar leads remind me a lot of the Residents as well.

the residents are one of les's favourite bands and a massive influence, sure he's wearing a residents tv in bill and teds bogus journey
brain is super talented, he drums nowhere near his abality in primus, remember reading in a drum mag that when he was learning drums he took lessons from 5 different teachers, for different days of the week

Heh, that's exactly what I don't like about Frizzle Fry. I prefere LaLonde's later complementary style. These few notes once in a while add much more to the songs than riffs in my opinion.

brain's actually drumming for tom waits now, or at least he was on "Real Gone."
i also like Frizzle Fry - the guitars are definitely more full on that release than any other... but i always liked that weird panning guitar solo on "Through the Electric Grapevine" and the odd-train-guitar sound from "Hamburger Train."
i really have a tough time choosing between Seas of Cheese, Pork Soda and Punchbowl.
i do think people talk a bit too much shit about Brown Album though - it has its moments too.

Brown Album is great, different, more laid back, but very high on my charts. Actually, on every Primus' album there is a song I don't like, except on BA.
Antipop is the one I wouldn't recommend to anyone. Well, maybe if a 14 year old kid asked me for introduction to Primus I would point at Frizzle Fry and Antipop, but that's it.
