Crunch rules

I just had to post something about this...I have been
listening to Crunch's 1 and 2 records nonstop...and they are
so damn good. Lots of neat melodies and ever-mutating
glitchy beats.

Anyone else here like these albums? And if you do, do you
have anything to recommend that I might also enjoy in this
vein?

funckarma - "solid state" or "parts"

lexaunculpt - sound clips at planet µ

funkstörung (heavy on the hip hop vibe after "appetite for
disctruction")

yeah .. crunch 1 is lovely, not heard crunch 2 yet ...

MAS_confusion compilation should do nicely, or some
Metamatics .. maybe some Machine Drum (off Merck - tho
that's got a slightly different vibe)

the new KIMA Video Project which just came out from Colony.

Mike from Colony comes on the board quite frequently.

I already have 3 Metamatics records...and they're good as
well. I like his other alias Norken too...good stuff.

And yeah I checked out Machine Drum...and some other people
from that site, and it's decent, but I don't see myself
spending alot of time there.

Hm, I thought this thread was about chocolate.

I am struck with disappointment.

Haha if it were about chocolate, with a thread title like
"Crunch rules"...I feel like one of the stoner kids in Half
Baked.

Crunch has no analogue or digital barriers. It's one of my
top handful of favorites along with these you might check
out:
otto von schirach- 8000 bc

the very first track by richard devine in "lily of the
valley"

autechre- lp5, ep7

the second to last track in michael fakesch's "marion" cd

funkstorung "appetite for disktruction"

Thanks, I'll check all of those out.

Although on Autechre's EP7, all I really could get into was
Dropp.

they're not completely the same - 2 are re-edited and the
third is a remix.

but it's more about the video on that release.

hey spaced, can you recommend any specific Norken releases?
what are they like compared to metamatics??

oh and totally forgot to mention the artists While
and Arovane

if you want "crunchier" music, check out Quinoline Yellow,
or the SMAK 2cd compilation

Norken is pretty interesting...I have Spring Themes and
another EP I can't recall the title of at the moment.

In comparison with Metamatics it's more moody and quiet and
melodic...at least to me.

Oh and that other EP by Norken I have is called Tidal
Frequencies. It's the first one I heard and it's much better
than Spring Themes.

glad you like it ... yeah other bits are the crunch 10" on
delikatessen, the chao (lusine icl) remix on metal
industries or on the new hymen lusine lp/cd ... or the
tipper surrounded (5.1 dvd or stereo cd) for more of our
bits, we got some other bits coming soon ...

i'm listening to alot of sevenark // loden // funckarma //
gescom // luke vibert at the moment and it's all worth
lookin into ...
