I liked it very much. A bit long at times though... Some of the scenes with Meryl Streep and the excentric orchid collector where brilliant. Got a good laugh when she got high and sang sadly with the telephone-toot.

i thought the ending sucked. other than that it was pretty original. the ending was just such a cop-out.

yeah I thought it was real fun. really good movie, Mr Cage did some fine acting, different from what he usually does.

not that Mr Cage is that bad, I liked him in e.g. Wild at Heart.

Cage was excellent, Streep was great, the orchid guy was ok, but the end just ruined it...........changed the whole vibe of the flick.

the ending was intentionally a cop out.
it ends exactly how charlie kaufman didn't want it to, with car chases and people overcoming challenges, and what not. it's supposed to be like comic irony.

its funny because thats exactly where his brother took over
his brother loved car chases and gun shoot outs and what have you. thats why you see it because he wanted his brother to help him write.
very well done

i haven't seen it yet, but i LOVED Being John Malkovich. Spike Jonze is quite the genius.
In fact, Being John Malkovich is one of the few good comedies i've seen in quite some time. So I will more than likely see Adaptation.

yeah: real genius that he gets to write the hollywood cliches towards the end, too bad the movie then actually does getting boring.
cool thing: a friend of mine that studies film is gonna do his thesis on the difference between us and european writing and that the latter isnt by a written down standarized system and wether that should, so he gets to read the stuff from that jerk-off film guru in adaptation

The whole point of the ending was that Charlie accepted he just couldn't adapt The Orchid Thief as it was written, so just stuck on a conventional ending.
