taken from rephlex:

The rumour mill has been working overtime on this one, but
it turns out for once you can believe something you read on
the Internet.

Cylobotnia = Astrobotnia + Cylob .

This is a bargain 8-track collaboration from two of
rephlex’s most popular artists.

International DJ and composer of gay porn soundtracks,
Cylob aka Chris Jeffs is a member of Rephlex’s old guard,
an incredibly versatile and imaginative musician who has
released everything from 1991’s Bell suite “ Mood
Bells” to the groundbreaking computer rap “Rewind”,
through to mind-war techno.

Astrobotnia / Ovuca is Finnish ex-porn star Aleksi Perala,
who creates deep dreamy tracks made from warm blankets of
chords and toasted breaks with oodles of detail you’ll
miss if you don’t listen carefully, so take the time to
enjoy it because it’s worth it.

It was during a 2-week tour of America last year that they
decided to work together, and after much long distance file
swapping this 8-track e.p. came into focus.

As you will hear, their styles complement each other very
well, crunchy beats, gongs and bells, dissonant squiggles
warm dubby space, surging strings and almost endless sonic
details.

It’s not a release that’s got any "hands in the air "
anthems, it’s one that reveals new facets every time you
listen to it and the more it’s listened to the more
enjoyable it becomes, which as anyone who loves music knows,
is ultimately much more satisfying.

Aleksi goes on An 11 date UK tour from 1st to 15th of
November with Bogdan Raczynski and special Rephlex guests
including Cylob in November. So look out for them in a town
near you.

i think the music's just a little bit more important than
the music.

I can see why zero wants to shut down the forum

:D haha that was a good one!!!

This cover art is quite questionable, but i will both excuse
and dismiss it because this 8 track album will rape your
eardrums with pleasure........ I'd bet $2.13 on it!

I know what you mean about music being more important...

but if you are putting out a CD, its now a product. If we
are looking at it as a product, I want a cover that I find
appealing. And even deeper then a product... but its a piece
of art in and of itself. The package is reprasentative of
what the artist feels about their music.

imo

And if its really about the music, then theyd just have it
for free download on their site.

The possibility of greatness that both of these artists have
to offer!

Think "Cylobian Sunset" meets "wasted sunday"

Think "astrobotnia pt 1" meets "moodbells"

and best of yet think "everyone" meets "rewind"
