I'm seeing APC in Boston tonight at the Berklee Performane Center. Should be a great show!
As a plus Danny Carey's (of Tool fame) side project Pigmy Love Circus is opening up! Being a drummer I'm looking forward to this greatly. Lets hope there is some intermingling of drummers between the bands.
I'll give a review when I get home tonight. I had to post now because I'm just so excited. I wish I could take photos but I'm sure there will be tight security.
Anyone else see them lately?

Actually the tickets sold out that quick here too. I have a hook up at the venue who let me know that at two o'clock last Friday a few more tickets would go on sale.
If you call the venue they might tell you that more tickets will be released.

i saw APC / PLC live saturday night. it was great.
first i'd like to note that PLC aren't danny carrey's side project. he produced and i assume played drums on their latest album (he played drums with them live too.. great stuff) but they're an LA band that formed in i think they said 1988. very motorhead-like, also a bit gwar-like (frontman was a fat biker dude in overalls, used halloween masks and fake gore props on stage). totally fun death/destruction oriented LA punk-metal.
APC were great live but the set was too short (65 minutes). maynard thanked us for attending their "soundcheck" which was about right. twiggy aka jeordie white was more than competent on the bass, so i get the feeling he added something special to the new album. james iha stayed in the shadows all night (as did maynard when he wasn't behind a screen) and played all backing stuff. he didn't record any parts for the new album but he is a part of the band now. josh freese tore it up on the drums better than ever.
one of the new songs they played has a very nin 'the fragile' era/massive attack feel to it. spooky with the drum pattern played on the rim of the snare. i don't know any of the names of the new songs tho. didn't play a whole lot of them, i guess cos of p2p downloaders (maynard joking before starting a new song: "turn off your tape recorders please, we're going to play a new song"). their cover of a song by failure was awesome but i'm curious as to why they didn't play it when troy was in the band.
my advice is to wait to see them on tour after the album comes out, just because the set will be longer. the only advantage i had is i got to hear some new songs, i got a "preview" of the new band, and it was a great opportunity to see a sold out APC show in an intimate environment (1000 capacity venue).

either because it was sold out or because it was APC, security was very tight (every person was frisked at the door).. so perhaps no one even had a recorder, although i saw 4 or 5 people smoking when everyone's cigarettes and lighters were confiscated at the door (usually smoking is allowed at the 9:30 club but i guess it was the band's request).

Ha I'm finally back the show was great!
The Pigmy Love Circus was great my seat was six rows from the stage so I was watching Mr. Carey the whole time. Amazing! Music wasn't exactly my cup-o-tea but entertaining nontheless. Afterwards they had a signed drumhead for sale with $100 price tag. Pretty funny.
As for A Perfect Circle - outstanding, they all seemed really relaxed and in "the groove". The place was quiet inbetween songs which led to some conversation between the band and the audience.
I recall - some guy "that song fucking rocked!" Maynard - "are you sure?"
some guy - " yeah it fucking rocked"
There were jokes a plenty, a great night. They forshadowed their return saying they'll be back, someplace where we won't have to sit down.
some guy - "no one was sitting!"
They played a great cover of a band Failure. The new songs rocked. One inparticular stood out, had this crazy heavy bridge to it.
Can't wait for the album, and I hope the rumors are true that they're touring with the Deftones.

saw the show here in Dallas.....didn't care for the Pygmy Love Circus, was too much like motorhead for my taste, Danny wasn't playing cool timesignatures, just staright up rock 'n' roll.........A Perfect Circle were f'n amazing, the new stuff sounds a lot more like Tool, but a little softer, long multi-parted, beautiful songs.........I think they only played two new songs, a cover by Failure, which was spooky.......and Maynard is in top form..........Twiggy Ramirez and James Iha are great additions.......APC is the super rock group now.....but instaed of sucking, they are shitting on all the other groups 'cause they have soul..........twas a short set though..........

i can kind of imagine what the songs sound like already heh, sounds good. im also interested why they didnt play the failure song when troy was in it, maybe he had some bad blood between the other guys in failure? i dont know i dont know too mcuh about them other than some of their music itself.

GREAT show, and PLC was campy funny......and very GWAR like, i mean really a grown man wearing a mask and holding a dolly.....whats not to like.
some of their music was mediocre.....some was excellent, and some was just repetative sounding. danny was great on the drums as always and seemed to be enjoying the madness.
i wanna hear the song 'when dagwood kills blondie' or something like that...the title just SLAYS me.
APC sounded great, very well put together and although maynard said it was a sound check (at 60 minutes it certainly coulda passed for one) they sounded well rehearsed and i liked TWO of the THREE songs (not including the failure cover, which was awesome and maynard seemed to be singing it to ONE of the blonde squade of girls that were watching from the upper level, oye he's such a DAWG =b) that they played. the 2nd one the best.....dunno the names tho =/
i wanna see a FULL show after the album is released. i like the cover of the upcoming album too.
and APC is completely different from TOOL, and for that i'm glad.......i like them separately from each other.....i think artists need to do different things to bring something new to their main band (interesting DIG that maynard took with danny with his comments during one of the songs...hummmmm)

maynard introducing "thomas": "thanks a lot to pygymy love circus for playing with us tonight. [goes on to talk about PLC and how special it is for the audience to have danny carrey drumming with them that night.] this song is about forgiveness. try it out sometime, danny."
