My friend drowned....

... at the weekend. He was on a canoeing holiday in
Switzerland and something happened and now he's dead. I
don't know the full details but it's fucking bad. I hate to
think that he drowned. That's the worst fucking way to die
or one of them anyway.

We weren't big time close or anything. I hadn't seen him for
a couple of months but it was just a really bad thing to
hear.
I can't say I'm really upset about it more bummed out.
That's the second person who i went to school with who'd
died in a horrible way.
Someone else broke their neck. :/

Zeus: I kind of answered there didn't I :)

Anus: Exactly

Jedi: Same place, sort of same hour.

IronLung: Thanks.

Key: Kind of what I'm feeling.

I'm really sorry man :( Don't let the circumstances prey
on your mind, there's no point mulling over what he went
through as you'll never know - and he's at peace now right?
It's fucking awful to hear shit like that man, fuck.

and things.

You have my condolences!

I hope I'm not out of line here, but I think you are wrong
about drowning beeing the worst way to die.

I can tell you a similar story that you may be able to
relate to, but in it's different and sad in a different
way...

This fellow schoolmate, I didn't know him at all very well
(but I still have a CD that was originally bought by him),
but he was a neighbour of one of my friends of my class.
Anyway just before the start of school, the last year of
Gymnasium (the grade in which you graduate) he commits
suicide.
Nobody knows why, and we discuss it and everything, and
later we found out he had jumped before a train. =(

It was real schocking news, I mean this guy had friends and
everything - but we found out that he had mental issues and
had been treated in lots of ways...
It was schocking anyway, it was so unexpected, so I guess I
do understand the kind of feelings you're having right now.

=(

Well maybe not the worst but one of them. That
feeling of all the water rushing into your lungs and being
unable to breathe. I can think of worse ways admittedly.

yes, I hate water...

I hardly go swimming, and I hardly ever go the the beach. I
hate the feeling on being unable to breath... even if im in
control, like swimming under water....

I love the water and this isn't going to stop me going out
in a canoe. The only thing that's got me now is that another
friend is going to Switzerland on Friday and she's canoeing,
I think.

Well isn't that a kick in your soul's nuts... nobody close
to me has ever died so I don't know what you're feeling.
Condolences, think good thoughts because they'll travel to
him. I think.

A popular junior hockey player drowned here yesterday, too,
on vacation... that's a bad time to go... and a bad WAY.

Three friends of mine that I went to school with have died,
one commited suicide, one died of an unintentional drug
overdose and one died in a head on car crash. It is a wierd
feeling because more than anything it reminds you of your
own mortality when a peer dies.

was dead, but that he killed himself... I wasn't close to
him really, but still it hit me hard...

that sucks

i was a swimmer in highschool. i'd been close to drowning on
one occasion and it was quite unpleasant. feeling
suffocated and smothered is not a sensation i ever want to
experience again.

i've heard that in Navy Seals training you have to drown
yourself on purpose and your fellow soldiers revive you.
then you have to do it all over again the next day. i don't
know how true this is though.

the thoughts there :)

evolume: that seal shit is fucked up. the closes I came was
to be caught in a wave. man it's harsh.
