How bizzare..

My CD player has a text function (an invention by Sony
which doesnt seem to have taken off too well) where it
displays tracks names if they have been encoded on to the
cd. So far the only bought cd i've found with text was a
Cypress Hill one (Cypress Hill are singed to Sony btw).

I got Billious Paths yesterday from Warp and put it in said
cd player and to my suprise track titles came up..but not
the same as the titles on the case...

Here they are:

1. JhonnyMaastrichtedit3.aif
2. meinheldEQ.aif
3. coqEQ.aif
4. ElcoEQ.aif
5. FreeqqiiEQ2.aif
6. SilkTiesEQ.aif
7. AECEQ.aif
8. WitchEQ.aif
9. MengegussXEQ.aif
10 Mouse BumsEQ.aif
11. ~ConvEQ.aif
12. AutumnEQ2.aif

What the fuck? Some of them make sense, like WitchEQ as that
is a remix of Witch Hunt by Hellfish and Producer, but what
about FreeqqiiEQ2??

Anyone else come across this?

Most new CD players have this. In fact, it's been around for
years. I know 'Draft 7.30' had different track names to the
ones on the CD case.

sounds like they had some temporary names on there when they
burned the disc, made up some real ones afterward, then
figured no one would notice the originals on there
afterwards..

i'm sure a lot of people are like how i am, when i get done
with a track i'll just hit some random keys to name it, and
that's what it will stay at, or it will have a just slight
variation later..
so many tracks end up as "asdf" or "jkl;" and the like..

When i finally get round to putting a cd together none of
the tracks will have names.

Yeah, i've had my cd player for years, but this is only the
second cd I have found with text on it in that time, and
I've bought a lot.

I think its odd they didnt ammend the names, or maybe they
were just being "clever"!

Also, is it me or is the mix of this album particularly
harsh? The treble is very harsh, especialy through
headphones, while other albums with a similar amout of
high-end tweakery like go plastic, arent.

Its a good album though, thats for sure.

yeah, probably working names...

now that its been happening for a while, people will
probably do it on purpose.. u know, purposely leave them on
there.
