Depeche Mode quiz

Oh yes, it's another Depeche Mode thread! :) Thing is, I
have an impressive collection of early Depeche Mode on vinyl
and I just moved house and had my turntable fixed...so I
just made up this quiz 'coz I'm at work and I'm bored. The
first person able to provide all the correct anwers will
receive a copy of the 7" 1985 single "It's called a heart",
which is backed by the brilliant "Fly on the windscreen"!
(Yes, I have two copies!)

1. How many songs did Alan Wilder write for Depeche Mode?

2. Which songs are they?

3. Which classical composer did Depeche Mode cover on the
b-side of one of their 12"s?

4. What other cover-songs have they done?

5. From what song are these lyrics taken:

"She was silent trying to be
Like the girl who acted on the tv
Always knowing when to say
Wishing for a moment so that they could see"?

6. Which Warp artist have Depeche Mode used as a producer?

7. Which DM single was the first to go gold in the U.S.?

8. Which Depeche Mode single changed sides when it was
released in the U.S., making the b-side the a-side and vice
versa? The US label Sire apparently did this because the
original a-side (one of the Mode's best singles ever, IMO!)
wasn't catchy enough!!!

Good Luck!

Nope... I'm not just giving away a deleted Depeche Mode 7"
with the cost of shipping it and all without getting the
answers.... Please try again!

"6. Which Warp artist have Depeche Mode used as a producer?
"

That would have to be the LFO guy right? Other then that
question, I know nothing!

yeh, and lots of cd's too. I have about 200 items... I know
that may not sound too much, but I stopped buying DM stuff
after the Violator singles...

So just about everything I have is from 1981 to 1990.

live tracks 12"s? I would love to hear the live version of
Now, this is fun, one of my fave DM tracks ever!

i would transfer the 1983 transcription discto mp3 so you
could hear it... it's just that I can't play vinyls at the
moment. since I don't have a "phono" connection on my
receiver, I use a small box between my vinyl player and the
receiver. the box blew up last month, and I haven't yet
bothered getting a new one.
