Does anyone else agree that Jochum should release more material along the same lines of 'A Shocking Hobby'. When i feel like listening to something dark and heavy I always fall back on this album... Loudboxer was dark but too trancy.. please feel free to elaborate.

the only speedy j album i own is "loudboxer" and i really don't care for it much, its just too repetitive (which i dont mind much if it is repeating something nice, but this just seems like endless drums) for me to like. i do like what i hear on the "artificial intelligence" cd though. what of his work would you recomend?

See above for recommendations.
Loudboxer wasn't meant to be a CD release. The CD release is more like a promo for the vinyl release (which has 200 locked grooves). Its pretty much for Dj's who want some cool beats that dont much so they can mix it in with other stuff.
Also check out "Public Energy #1" which is similar to "A Shocking Hobby". Good stuff.

check out the releases thru plus8 from the early 90s.but p.e.no1 and shocking hobby are staggering works of industrial/idm noise, especially manhasset(the last track from shocking hobby).....genius guy, vastly under-rated/overlooked.
