Who knows much about them here...I have heard Red Mecca and The Voice Of America...also Plasticity and Radiation...I think I like both their more industrial music as well as their more dance oriented music. Who else listens to the round here? What should I be listening to next? |

Yeah...I suppose they are quite old...almost as old as Coil...though they are a lot easier to get into than Coil ... or atleast what I've heard of them has been interesting but not as hard hitting as early Coil.... |

Yeah...but I find Throbbing Gristle to be a extremely hard listen at times...not so with much of Cabaret Voltaire...maybe they just turned a dance act before Physic TV or Coil did. |

reznor stole voltaire's singing style, along with oghr's looks/live show, /cevin cey's production techniques...i also think the last scene in "night nurses 2" is reznor with a wig w/ 2 blonde bimbo's. i dont' really dig cabaret voltair. i leave it to kraftwerk to fill that type of nostalgia hole. or T.G. i do want disipline, some in here would be nice...heh. |

bahhhhh........All Music suxOrZ!!! he's a short synopsis of what they say about them.......READ TIT AND WEEP =0) GWAR (an acronym for God What an Awful Racket) is thrash metal's answer to the more mainstream satire of Spinal Tap. Gory, sexually perverse, and scatological in the extreme, GWAR was formed at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond as an experiment in marketing strategy by several musicians, art students, and dancers. The group claims to consist of all-powerful interplanetary warriors, descended from aliens stranded in Antarctica and initially created from the lowest filth in the universe, who have come to Earth to sexually enslave and/or slaughter the human race. All members perform under aliases; the main group consists of Oderus Urungus (vocals, born David Brockie), Balsac the Jaws of Death (guitar, born Steve Douglas), Flattus Maximus (guitar, born Peter Lee), Beefcake the Mighty (bass, born Michael Bishop), and Jizmak the Gusher (drums, born Brad Roberts). Auxiliary characters include Techno-Destructo (occasional vocals, born Hunter Jackson), Slymenstra Hymen (born Danyelle Stampe), The Sexecutioner (born Charles Varga), and Sleazy P. Martini (manager, born Don Drakulich). it's tricky. what i do if i want to link an artist's URL is i look up one of their album titles, click onto the page for that album, then click on the artist's name. THAT's when the correct URL is displayed. for getting an album page switch around "album" and "artist" in the above instructions, and so forth.. |

I have head almost all Coil releases...and yes...LSD is great...though I personally love Scatology and Horse Rotovator just a shade more...but yes, LSD IS truly amazing. |

there is a 3-cd-compilation from Cabaret Voltaire called 'Methodology', with tracks from Cabaret Voltaire 1974 to 1978... but i heard sound samples from the first tracks, i don't get it ' _ ' for example there is a track called 'exhaust', and apparently it's just a voice saying "exhaust... exhaust... ex-haust...", or 'jet passing over': the sound of a plane passing over you... ...is it all like that?! o_O |
