i will be in france and holland from 1 to 22 of august travelling by train...(interail) is there, anywhere in both countries, with an interesting record shop or gig to go (specially ref. in Paris and Amsterdam)? |

yes, there is an interesting record shop. Go to Eindhoven, give me a call and I'll show you Rare Records! It's an electronic music specialised shop with almost the entire warp and rephlex collection. |

go to Get Records, in Amsterdam. it's on the Utrechtsestraat. it also has all of Planet Mu, Rephlex, Warp and most small labels. their philosophy is: if we can order it, we do so. they also order internet-only stuff. they're not solely 'electronica'-based either. there's all kinds of strange music there, and the philosophy goes for all bands in that store. |

in Paris, good record shops are all around "Bastille". Just try to find a street called "RUE de la roquette". Litteraly, Rocket street 8), *Duh!*. |

yeh yeh yeh!! they're really cool, really nice guys too. I go there about once every 4 months with loads of cash because I know I WILL spend it. I heard that Plato Nederland know owns Get though.. hope they don't start importing through Plato, as the store will quickly drop in quality, I fear. |

yeah, when you're in Eindhoven, go to the Effenaar. Unfortuantely there's only one gig during the time you're here (or in france) in the Effenaar that is worth going to: 2 AUG: Dj's Pan + Millenium Kru + Mike_Engine + mc Proskript (drum 'n bass) You should go there if you're here in that time. It's only 6 euros. |

too bad. Well, you can always visit 'De Bakkerij' (best 'pub' in Eindhoven). It's one of the few public places here where you can get both drunk and stoned at the same time. I mean, there are lots of coffee shops where you can get stoned and lots of pubs where you can get drunk, but combining them is risky, that's why it's one of the few places where it's allowed. Btw, they play good music there (compared to the other pubs where it's just trance trance trance and some pop). But uhm, once again, remind me before you're going and I'll give you my number. |
